The series, "Yokai Gakko no Sensei Hajimemashita!" is a manga series by Mai Tanaka that is currently being serialized in the monthly "G Fantasy" magazine. The series has sold over 800,000 copies.
Abe Seimei, a timid, whiny, and clumsy new teacher, is assigned to "Hyakki Gakuen," a school where all the monsters in Japan gather. In April, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, he becomes the teacher he has always wanted to be, but what awaits him in the classroom is a parade of students who are all too much of specters, such as "Plague God," "Gashadoro," and "Hitotsume no kojo! Furthermore, his fellow teachers are "Shuten Doji" and "Kamaitachi," and the headmaster of the school is the mysterious "Nurarihyon," who always wears masks and appears and disappears from the school! Although he is supposed to have the mysterious power to eliminate ghosts, he is constantly pushed around by these unique characters, and the peaceful school life that Seimei dreamed of is nowhere to be found. This time, "Yokai Gakko no Sensei Hajimemashita! will be adapted into an anime in 2024, the 10th year of its serialization.
