Deguchi: What do you think of this season's anime?

Samejima There are so many interesting ones this season, I don't have enough time.

Deguchi Among them, what anime are you pushing this season?

Samejima It is "Captain Tsubasa"! It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in the 1980's. The junior high school tournament version was the story of the previous season, and this is the junior youth version after that. This is the episode that is said to be the hottest in "Captain Tsubasa". Actually, this area has been made into an OVA, but it has not been made into a TV anime until now. I was looking forward to the first time it was made into a TV anime. It is no exaggeration to say that the whole world has been waiting for it.

By the way, at the time of the serialization, Japan was a weak soccer country, but now we are totally strong. Even if we participate in the World Cup, we will make it to the top 16 or so. I wondered how they would fill the gap, but in this anime, they depicted Japan as a weak country, and I thought they would leave it as it was. The uniforms are also the same as the Japanese national team at the time, so this tickles my fancy. ......So, can I continue in this vein?

Captain Tsubasa Season 2 Junior Youth Arc OP "AS ONE" (West.)

Samejima Here is the first ani-song that Samejima Ichirokusan is promoting this season! Captain Tsubasa World Youth Arc" OP, "AS ONE" by WEST! WEST. sang it last season, too, but this time it's like a grand anthem that could be sung in the stadium. I can see a picture of everyone singing it; there is a World Cup in 2026 in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, and the qualifying rounds have already started in October, and I think it will already be sung there.

I still like the OP video, it starts with the original picture, but it starts with the junior high tournament, not the junior high youth version. I think it plays the same role as the previous synopsis. The characters change from their junior high school uniforms to the uniforms of the national team, which is also thrilling. I'm watching it while thinking, "Oh, I see, I'm sure that the players will be added to the OP image depending on the future storyline.

Deguchi: In this unnatural gap (laughs).

Samejima Ha-ha-ha (laughs). (laughs). I watch it thinking, "I wonder if this part will be changed. This song has a "this is soccer song" feel to it, and I feel that if this song gets the right hook, it will be a big anthem that will be sung in the stadiums of the Japanese national soccer team for 10 or 20 years.

Deguchi: No other artist can create this kind of stadium atmosphere. It's like "everyone is going to sing together. I think that people who don't know "Cap Tsubasa" or West. may hear "AS ONE" at the stadium and think, "What's this new soccer song? I think this is a way to convey the message of the song. England is also a major soccer country, so a song by a soccer-loving band could be used as the theme song. I would like to hear a song like that.

Samejima I would love to hear it in a stadium.

Deguchi: I knew you would put this in there, Mr. Samejima (laughs).

Samejima Yes, West. sings this song as well, and I am very grateful for that. That being said, the way he sings is very sticky.

Deguchi: What do you think of that?

Samejima I can't get enough of that stubbornness. It's a bit exaggerated. I listen to it while thinking it's interesting. The last song was sung by voice actress Yufuko Sanpei, and I think this time it's a new "Burnt Hero".

■"Under Ninja" OP "Hyper" (Kroi)

Deguchi
: It was surprisingly cool. The songs are great, but the fashion also shows a good sense of style, and I think people who like this band have good taste.

Samejima That's what people say. The works themselves are also fashionable.

Deguchi As for the animation, the original author is Kengo Hanazawa, so he doesn't consistently portray cool people. The main character is not a weak person, but a depressed person, and the way he is portrayed and shown is very modern. Whereas before it would have been blatant or offensive, now it seems to be more sympathetic.

Samejima: It's okay to have people like this in your paintings.

Deguchi The way the characters are drawn, there are only people with bad personalities, and there are not many cool people or cute girls. There are a lot of characters that express the ugly side of human nature, but they are not hateful and there is room for a little humor. I think there is a sense of humor in the songs as well. The song starts out sounding bad or aggressive, but as it gets to the chorus, it becomes catchier and catchier, so I think it is a very calculated song. The song incorporates what we think is cool at each point, and the fact that it is not a mishmash but rather a single sound is an amazing amount of information.

Samejima I think it's because of the high level of editing ability of the composers.

Deguchi: So, without fear of misunderstanding, I would say that this music can serve as a guideline for people who are thinking of starting a band or doing something else. Conversely, it is no good if you only like music. You really know a lot of things, you are interested in a lot of things, and you have this coolness and sense of style.
