ONE PIECE" OP "Supreme Destination" by SEKAI NO OWARI

Samejima The third song is here. The third song is "ONE PIECE" OP "Highest Reaching Point" by SEKAI NO OWARI, which has been used in the OP since September, so it is an autumn cool! Last time I uploaded the ED, but that was in August, so it's in the summer cool.

Deguchi: Hahaha (laughs).

Samejima When you listen to it in full, the interlude is very long and the development is elaborate, and I don't know what SEKAI NO OWARI is thinking, but I thought there was a sense of Kohei Tanaka in it. I thought that Mr. Kohei Tanaka is like "We Are! and the length of the interlude in the One Piece song when you listen to it in full, as well as "Sakura Taisen" and "King Gainer," which are anime songs that have a certain quirk. I felt that "Supreme Destination" is also a song that respects Kohei Tanaka in the style of SEKAI NO OWARI. It has a nice "One Piece" feel to it.

Also, in the OP video, circles and circles are used in a very symbolic way. Since this is the "One Nation" version, a circle drawn with a brush is in the center of the screen at the beginning, and from there, the image develops with the circle in the center of the screen. For example, there is a blank ceiling from which you can see who is watching Kaidou and Luffy fighting, an octopus in the center of the "Wanokuni" version, Luffy as Nika and the roundness of the light in the background, and a Japanese-style circular window. Also, the cheeks of the character Otama appear in the center of the screen! It was a circle for 90 seconds. The whole 90 seconds unfolds as a circle. I don't know what the purpose of the circle is, but since "ONE PIECE" is heading toward its final chapter, I think the circle symbolizes "ONE PIECE, a single link. I wonder if "ONE PIECE" is a circle. This song tickles me because it has a sense of "Tanaka Kohei" and "ONE PIECE" including that.

Deguchi: You chose the ED last time, but it was the first ED in 16 years, and you said that it was better to have an ED, and that "ONE PIECE" should be like this.

Samejima: I feel like we are going back to our roots, or rather, we are trying to recover everything toward the end of the story. Luffy says something like, "This is my highest point! So I think everything is connected. When I say "ONE PIECE," people laugh, but I think it's the right thing to say! (laughter)

Deguchi: I think it's quite a tour de force (laughs). (laughs) Even though you say it's an autumn-cool anime.

Samejima It's autumn! It starts on September 3, so it's autumn! By the way, at the beginning, pictures of the past "ONE PIECE" will appear in a flash like a mosaic art. Some people were wondering if Uta (a major character in the movie "ONE PIECE FILM RED") is going to be involved in the TV series in some way. Some people were wondering if he is going to be involved in the TV series in some way.

The theme song of "Chickip Dancers" "Bourne! Bourne! Bourne!" (Eriko Yumiki)

Deguchi: My third song is from "Chickip Dancers," "Bourne! Bourne! Bourne!" by "Chickip Dancers".

Samejima Wow! I didn't know that one before.

Deguchi: My impression of this season was that there were quite a lot of songs where you could hear the sound of the instruments, and that there were a lot of band sounds. I could see the person playing in many of the songs, so I thought, "Bourne! Boom! Boom! is also a song that fits that impression. Eriko Yumiki is a singer-songwriter, but she has been playing the guitar since she was a child. She was a member of KIRINJI for a while, and after leaving KIRINJI, she joined various scenes as a session guitarist, or as a support guitarist for many bands and artists such as Base Ball Bear. I knew him from his live performances, and he is a very good guitarist! He plays like a studio musician, but he also has a strong individuality like a band member. He is like a guitar hero.

He is currently studying music abroad and is not active in Japan that much, so this song is a long-awaited activity, which is rare these days.

I think it is cool that someone who is good at playing an instrument writes a song, and then sings it himself. The more people think that is cool, the more people will say, "I started playing an instrument after seeing this person," or "I decided to make music, too. Recently, AI has become an issue, and computers can be used to create something like that, but he seems to really enjoy learning to play an instrument and creating a piece of music, so I think that's important.

Samejima I like the fact that the animation is on E-television. If kids watch it, listen to the good music, and want to try it themselves.

Deguchi He is also active on YouTube, uploading what are called ""play-by-play" videos. He doesn't just play the guitar part, but also plays the melody and creates new parts by himself. He is doing it at a frightening level. Guitar "I tried playing it" videos sometimes have a strong pressure like I arranged it, and that forced quality is part of the flavor, but Yumiki-san doesn't have that. He plays with a smile on his face and says, "I'm having fun! But what he does is so out of the ordinary that I wonder how many guitarists have put their guitars down. He's no match for them. I have the impression that he is a star player who hooks up with the whole scene because he is having so much fun and performing at such a high level.

It's not an anime that every anime fan would watch, but the purity of what is being done there is extraordinary.

Samejima: When I was a kid, I used to listen to "Hatch Potch Station" on E-television, but when I grew up, I realized how cool it was. I hope that children will eventually realize that.

Deguchi I feel that E-telephony is very well produced in terms of music and creativity.

Samejima Children watch it casually, but in fact, there are many things that they are not aware of! Samejima Kids watch it casually, but in fact!

Deguchi I think what we used to watch was amazing.

Wrap-up

Deguchi: The results this time were also quite unexpected.

Samejima I didn't expect "Chiquip Dancers" to come in.

Deguchi: There were other songs that I wanted to give a prize to.

Samejima "JUNGLE FIRE feat. MOTSU" from "MF Ghost" OP by MOTSU and Yu Serizawa. This one has already received a good response at Anikura.

Deguchi: It's a bit orthodox, isn't it? Another song I wanted to pick up was "THE LONELIEST" from "Onimusha. It's a song by an Italian band called Maneskin. The members are still in their early twenties, but high brands like Gucci have provided them with costumes, and they seem to be a big deal, not like a young band. The band has a high reputation for their music, but they also love Japanese culture such as anime and manga, and I don't know if it is because of this connection, but I think it is interesting to have a foreign band sing the theme song for a Japanese anime.

Samejima "01" (Queen Bee) from "Undead Unlucked" is also cool. It fits with the work.

Deguchi: There have been a lot of songs that sounded like a lot of computer-generated music, so it was great to hear a band-like sound here.

Samejima "Shiny Girl," the opening song of "SHY" sung by MindaRyn, is also very refreshing, and the opening video is very colorful and elaborate.

Deguchi: "Tearmoon Teikoku Monogatari ~Tearmoon Teikoku Monogatari ~Decapitation ~ Hime no Tensei Fukkai Story ~" OP "Happy End Princess" sung by Uesaka Sumire is also good. Don't get me wrong, it's a crazy joke. The composer/composer is Masayoshi Oishi, who has written a lot this season, and my impression is that he is good at providing a song in the form of an address to someone and boosting the "fun factor" that the person has. I think he is good at boosting the "fun factor" that he has. That is cool.

Samejima I guess he has a strong producer side as well. Then there is "Be Cool Men!", the insert song for episode 4 of "Bikkuri Men". When read aloud, it is "Bikkuri Men" and the lyrics are in English, but when you listen to them, they are all in Japanese, which I thought was a very powerful insert song in the style of Tetsu Okazaki and Keisuke Kuwata. I think "Bikkuri Men" is not to be underestimated for the effort they put into this kind of thing.

Deguchi: There is no end to the topic, but these are the anime songs we have selected for this season. However, this is not a ranking of superiority or inferiority.

Samejima That's right. There are anime that I like, and many other things have been added on top of them.

Deguchi: I picked them all up as I went along, so I'd like to repeat that they are all 5 stars!

Samejima But it is really difficult to choose. This time, I chose Kaco and Kano from "Overtake! I think that this season has brought in more and more people who have not been involved in ani-song before, people who are not ani-song singers, such as Kaco and Kano of "Overtake! I think the fact that people who have been involved in the Corona Disaster and after have been coming to the festival since the previous term shows that the times are changing.

Deguchi: We are observing anime songs from the corner of the industry without getting caught up in the big vortex, so we would like to do a big review at the end of the year of what we thought and felt, what we would like to talk about more, and what we liked about this song. So I hope you will continue to enjoy the podcast.

Deguchi & Samejima That's all for "Talking Anime Songs!
