So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! The 87th issue of the series has begun!

Weekend Plastic Modeling by Yasuyuki Tai, Voice Actor, Vol. 87 MODEROID Galvion

This time, we would like to introduce you to that very robot that made an impact on the viewers in the movie "Mecha Smile Impact 2023". It is Galbion, the main mecha from "Super Attack Speed Galbion," which many of you may remember for its impressive opening theme. Galbion is a mecha that transforms in three stages from a six-wheeled supercar "Circus I" to a robotic road fighter and then to an intermediate form, a road attacker.

The "Super Attack Speed Galbion" is a painful sci-fi action film with mecha designed by Koichi Ohata and characters designed by Toshihisa Tagami, and it is a truly fascinating work! However, it is also well known that it was cancelled after 22 episodes due directly to the bankruptcy of its main sponsor, Takato Toys.

However, the attractive mecha of this work still boasts strong popularity, and not only were plastic kits released at the time of broadcast, but even after entering the 21st century, Galbion, the main mecha in particular, has had several opportunities to be sculpted.

It has been a long time since Galbion was made into a kit, and this kit was realized by MODEROID from Good Smile Company!

This time, the kit does not fully reproduce the complex transformation mechanism, but rather focuses on the proportions of each form through a drastic replacement transformation.

Please take a look at the proportions that were carefully considered.

This is the package. In the back, there are also figures of Circus II and Circus III. Eh, what if?

Here is the figure straightly assembled with stickers applied. Thanks to the parts division, precise placement of the stickers, and some painted parts, the color scheme can be reproduced so far without assembly. The smart impression of the style can be reproduced perfectly. The stickers are so precise that some people may not have noticed that the "C" and "1" are stickers in this image.

Although hidden by the backpack, there is also a sticker on the back part that corresponds to the placement of the Circus I form. Air nozzles on the legs are deployable.

The missile pods on the shoulders can be opened and closed.

Here is the missile pod in its deployed state. I got the impression that it was a little easy to disassemble when deployed, so you can glue it on with care to the movable parts.

Around the face, there are many pre-painted parts. The reproduction of this unique face is also quite good. The yellow coloring on the chest is also done by stickers.

The arms can be rolled and rotated in two places: under the shoulders and under the second arm. The volume of the forearms is well balanced.

The legs can be rotated by connecting the upper and lower thigh blocks with two shafts. The hip joint is also connected to the shaft.

The reproduction of the bright blue and pale sky blue colors is especially well done.

The ankles are ball-jointed for rotation and swinging. Ground contact is also rather good.

The cockpit block is carried on the back. The black part of the cockpit hatch is a sticker. Wings can be deployed.

The curved surface on the side of the legs is one of the important parts of Galbion. If the surface here is incorrect, it will look uncool in all forms.

Chest panel is operable. This is the end of the front.

Parts like wings can also be opened and closed up to here.

The base of the hip joints are unusually movable so that they can be tilted inward. This makes it easier to open the front and back of the hip joints.

The ankles can be moved up and down, as well as the toes can be moved up and down.

Posed using "THE Simple Stand" (sold separately). The waist is connected to the axis and can be rolled and rotated. Handgun and shield are equipped. Both left and right weapon handles are included. The slender Galbion looks great with a light action reproduction.

The shield can be fixed to the arm. Both left and right wrists with expressions are also included.

Handgun can also be mounted on the arm.

Some parts of the head and ankles can be replaced, and the wings on the back can be extended to the left and right to recreate a floating form.

Using the unique movable hip joints, you can easily pose her with her legs crossed.

Next, let's take a look at the transformation into a road attacker.

Road Attacker form

First, disassemble Galbion in Road Fighter form to this point.

Assemble the parts on the right of the image as shown in the block on the left of the image.

Replace the wrist with shutter parts and the missile pod block with those for the Road Attacker and Circus I, and assemble as shown in the block on the left side of the image.

The handgun is split, folded and ......

Mounted behind the shield.

The body part is replaced entirely and the block that was transformed earlier is assembled.

This is the road attacker mode of the fast combat form. It is an intermediate form between Galvion and Circus I. Although it did not appear in the movie, some of you may remember it because it was reproduced in the plastic kits of the time. MODEROID has done a great job in reproducing even this form.

From the back. I wonder what kind of activity it was supposed to play ......, it is a little regrettable that it ended up not appearing.

From the front, it is a uniquely shaped mecha. It was supposed to be used for forced breakthrough.

If it were to be fixed, a jet nozzle could be added to the elbow.

There are joint holes on the bottom for "THE Simple Stand". You can see the shield mounted on the bottom of the vehicle body.

In the plastic kit at the time of the airing of the anime, it was possible to transform from this form into a road fighter. Looking back on it now, I feel that it was quite over-engineered.

The height of the vehicle is high, and it seems to have high running ability.

I wonder if it was possible to transform only the arms into this form for fighting.

Now let's see how it transforms into the other form!

Transforming into Circus I!

Disassemble the parts again.

The arm and chest blocks are transformed into a compact form by storing the two arms.

It is then wrapped in the exterior for Circus I.

The chassis is attached with overlapping parts that increase the thickness. And if you assemble each block, you can see ......

Circus I is completed. It is the best form. This is the answer to our commitment to reproduce all the forms by making them replaceable.

Even the rear part of the body, which is originally packed with deformation gimmicks, has been finished very smartly with the bold replacement parts.

At the time, the Circus I fixed kit was also released, and many people probably like this form the best.

If you can afford it, you may want to paint the tail lamps and muffler.

This glamorous look seen from the side. I can't get enough of it. The "CIRCUS-1" part is a sticker reproduction. The wheels are all fixed for convenience of deformation.

The bottom of the figure is clean because of the replacement deformation. Beautiful.

Shield can be mounted on the bottom of the body. All six tires are still in contact with the ground.

The air nozzles on the legs open like retractable lights, allowing you to recreate the flame-throwing state shown in the film.

Here, let's check how the proportions have been secured by the replacement. The red arrows indicate the parts that correspond to each other before and after the transformation. It is clear that the shape and size of the parts are different.

The size and shape of the driver's seat area is also different. As a result of the replacement transformation, we were able to achieve the best proportions for each form.

Plus a little extra work!

This time, I only used a PIGMA 0.03mm pen for smearing. If details tend to be blurred due to the bright colors, I think smudging will bring out the charm of the design.

I think the area around the wheels has been tightened up.

Even in the Circus I form, the smearing looks reasonably good.

Also, it might be a good idea to apply partial painting to the tail lamps and other parts.
