RAI'S plans to release "Mazda RX-7 (FD3S) Niigata Prefectural Police Traffic Mobility Unit Vehicle (355)" and "Saitama Prefectural Police Highway Unit Vehicle (853)" around March 2024. The price is 3.960 yen each (tax included). Reservations have been accepted at Model Gallery HIKO7 and other model stores nationwide since January 11, 2024.

Mazda RX-7 (FD3S) Patrol Car

Patrol cars based on Mazda's RX-7 (FD3S) rotary sports car were deployed in several prefectures at government expense in the late 1990s, but most have been retired after more than 20 years since their deployment.
Among them, the Niigata and Saitama Prefectural Police cars modeled in this issue are valuable vehicles that are still in operation. Although they are rarely used for law enforcement, they appear at various events such as the New Year's celebration, and are popular among children.
