Chinese-made anime has been gradually increasing in number in recent years, and while until now they have been broadcast with Japanese voice actors adding their voices to locally-produced anime, this year there was finally a work broadcast in Japan with subtitles added to the performances of local Chinese voice actors. This may have been one of the reasons for the unprecedented result of this year's annual male voice actor poll, with Chinese voice actors dominating the top three positions!
We did not expect this result, but we wonder if this trend will continue in 2024.
In fourth place is Makoto Furukawa, a well-known favorite in Akiba Research Institute's voice actor poll. He is by far the top Japanese voice actor. Last year, he starred in a variety of characters, both soft and hard, and entertained us with his beautiful voice, but as fans know, he has also appeared in many works as a sub character. Fans know that Mr. Furukawa has appeared in many sub-characters as well! I remember that it happened more than once. I look forward to seeing more of his work this year!


Fifth place also goes to Ryohei Kimura, who was active in a wide variety of works. Kimura played a variety of roles, from a fresh young boy to a fierce warrior, but what he had in common was his naturalistic acting. His natural voice amplified the charm of the characters many times over.


In sixth place was Masaaki Mizunaka.
