Celebrating the 40th anniversary of "Detective Holmes! Four episodes directed by Hayao Miyazaki will be screened again from Friday, March 22!

The digitally remastered version of the animated film "Detective Holmes," which marks the 40th anniversary of its release, will be screened again for two weeks from March 22 (Fri.) as part of a revival screening project organized by Filmarks, a movie, drama, and animation review service.

The screenings will feature four episodes from the 26-episode TV anime "Detective Holmes" directed by Hayao Miyazaki: "The Blue Ruby," "The Treasure at the Bottom of the Sea," "The Mrs. Hudson Hostage Crisis," and "The Great Battle of the Straits of Dover! The four episodes are "The Blue Ruby," "The Undersea Treasure," "The Mrs. Hudson Hostage Cases," and "The Great Battle of Dover Straits!

Each story was published in 1984 as "Detective Holmes: The Blue Red Jade (Ruby)", "The Treasure at the Bottom of the Sea", "Detective Holmes: The Mrs. Hudson Hostage Cases", and "The Great Battle of the Straits of Dover! were released in theaters in 1984 and 1986.

The production team includes Hayao Miyazaki as director, Sunao Katabuchi as scriptwriter ("In a Corner of the World," "Mai Mai Shinko and the Millennium Magic"), Yoshifumi Kondo as animation director and character designer ("Ears to the Past," "Grave of the Fireflies," "Omohide Poroporo"), and Jizo Yamamoto as art director ("Laputa: Castle in the Sky," "A Girl Called Tokiwa The film is an adventure adventure adventure that can be enjoyed by men and women of all ages.

＜Synopsis
An animated adaptation of Conan Doyle's famous mystery novel with a twist. In the foggy city of London's Baker Street, the famous detective Holmes, whose trademark is his pipe, is in search of a solution to a difficult case. Together with his assistant Watson, he deduces and solves difficult cases with his lucid mind. The film combines the charm of a mystery drama with elements of action and comedy, making it a fun and innovative work. Of the "Detective Holmes" TV series, in which all the characters are anthropomorphized as dogs and their expressions are quite unique, this is the first and second special editions, excerpts from the works directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
