PS5 "Rise of the Ronin" Play Movie Released! Open World Action RPG by "Team NINJA", the development team of "NINJO

A new gameplay trailer has been released for the PS5 game "Rise of the Ronin," scheduled for release on Friday, March 22, 2024.

Rise of the Ronin" is an open world action RPG from Team NINJA, the development team behind "NINO" and "NINJA GAIDEN". The game allows players to experience a story set at the end of the Edo period in Japan while enjoying simple yet profound combat using a variety of play styles, including melee weapons and firearms.

In late 19th century Japan, at the end of the Edo period, a time of oppression and stagnation, many innovative figures, including Ryoma Sakamoto and Shoin Yoshida, appeared on the scene, and the protagonist, a ronin, had to deal with them. Depending on their choices, players sometimes form cliques to fight together with them, and sometimes confront them, as they progress through the story.

The title offers a great deal of variety and freedom, including the use of horses and gliding devices to explore the vast world and intense battlefields of the Bakumatsu period; the use of a wide variety of equipment, including swords, spears, and other melee weapons as well as firearms, projectiles, and other remote weapons; and the use of grappling ropes and stealth action to attack in any direction and at any time.

Gameplay Introduction

Fight as a Ronin!

To fight the enemy, all kinds of weapons will be available: in addition to Team NINJA's signature swordsmanship, remote weapons including Japanese spears and foreign pistols can also be used.

Weapons that fuse the Japanese and Western worlds are also an option. The flamethrower-like "capture fire cannon" can be used to burn a group of enemies whole, or to ignite a gunpowder-filled tar to set them ablaze. You can also skillfully wield a bayonet to counter rifle fire. Understanding the enemy's equipment and choosing the appropriate fighting style is the key to gaining an advantage in battle.

As Team NINJA fans already know, timing is crucial in melee combat. The new trailer shows a heated battle between swordsmen.
Choosing the right stance, passive stance, and timing the parry are crucial to defeating the enemy. The use of a grappling hook can also be used to pull an enemy away from you during battle, or to take down an enemy in a deft manner without them noticing. The grappling rope can also be used to move and close the distance between you and the enemy at once.

The Ronin of Fate must use every tool at their disposal to defeat the threats they face.

Journey to Japan

Set in late 19th century Japan, there are many options available. Grappling ropes are useful for climbing rooftops and other high places, and can provide great strength in an instant outside of battle. Riding a trusty horse across a wide open field to the destination of a mission can also be a quick and easy way to get there.

The ingenious "Abikiru" device is one of the most anticipated mobility options for Team NINJA. This extraordinary technology allows for the instant deployment of lightweight wings designed to glide through the air.
Players can sprint across rooftops, leap to remote heights with a grappling rope, deploy gliders in mid-air, and soar through the air using updrafts. They can adjust their direction and speed and close their wings at any time. The player can finish off an enemy with a stealth attack before he or she is noticed.

Player Choice

In addition to choosing combat and movement styles, the actions players take during the story missions will change the world of "Rise of the Ronin.

The new trailer features a scene in which the player fights a group of guards, known as "Iga Shichi," who are hostile to the player. This choice creates a bond between the characters and allows the player to better understand Iganashichi. The same choice can be made for characters such as Ryoma Sakamoto, who has already been introduced in the trailer.

The storyline will change depending on who you choose to build relationships with, but the game's difficulty level will not be affected by which characters you choose to bond with, so enjoy the various choices you have to make.
