Since last year, we have often seen "local gachas". You have to go there to buy it. Unless you live in the area, or even if you do, you can get a capsule of a key ring of a famous landmark or specialty that you didn't know much about! Such a fusion of rarity and mania has led to a nationwide "GOTOCHI GACHA" boom.

In this issue, we would like to introduce you to the latest such local Gacha key chains!

Local Capsule Nakano Vol. 2 Bushiroad Creative, 300 yen, 7 kinds in total

Before introducing "Vol. 2", I would like to look back on my encounter with the previous "Vol. 1".

Early last year, while walking along the Sun Mall shopping street on my way to Nakano Broadway, I came across a capsule toy specialty store called "gashacoco! The capsule toy sold at the store was the "Local Capsule Nakano," a local gasha (toy). I tried it out as a Tokyo souvenir, and out of the capsule came "Nakano Loves Nakano-san" with a melancholy expression on his face. He was the official city promotion character of Nakano City. I remember being satisfied with the well-made key chain.

Other lineups include "Nakano Sun Plaza," which closed last year, "Nakano Sun Mall Shopping Street," "Nakano South Exit and Brick Slope Shopping Street," "Nakano Broadway," and do you know the locals? Local love was in full bloom, including "TAC (Tokyo Athletic Club)," the first membership sports club in Japan, and "Kanto Bus," which is headquartered in Nakano Ward. (Incidentally, Bushiroad's address is also in Nakano Ward.)

There are many reasonably priced and friendly drinking establishments in Nakano. A representative example is this restaurant. They treat you with seasonal fresh fish purchased from Tsukiji. Fujiko Fujio A. used to frequent this famous restaurant.

Incidentally, there used to be "Daiichi" in another location.

Showa Shindo Shopping Street

This is a historic shopping street located east of the arcade at the north exit of Nakano Station. It is commonly called "Ura-Nakano. It is my favorite place in the town, where you can see red lanterns when the sun goes down and feel the atmosphere of the Showa period more.

Maruman

Yellow and deep-rimmed design. The cover with "Sketch BOOK" printed in a unique font is famous. I am sure many of you have used it or seen it before. It is the sketch book for comedians. I see that Maruman is also headquartered in Nakano Ward.

Philosophical Hall (Rokkendai)

Philosophy is the theme of this municipal park, which was designated as a national place of scenic beauty in 2020. Rokkendai," a vermilion-lacquered building dedicated to the Six Sages of the Orient, has become a cute key holder. It looks like a place where you can spend a wonderful time. I would like to visit it next time.

Marui Group

The founder, Chuji Aoi, split the goodwill from "Maruni Shokai" and opened a business in Momo-en-cho, Nakano-ku, Tokyo. It is now operating as "Nakano Marui".

JR Nakano Station (station name sign)

This is a historic station that opened in 1889 and later laid the foundation for the mass rapid transit system as the first train operating section in Japan. It is, needless to say, an indispensable gateway to Nakano.

The key ring is made of solid acrylic material with fine printing, making it a perfect souvenir.

Yume Group, well-known for its addictive mail-order commercials, has made a bold move into the capsule toy industry!
