Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty" is a dark fantasy action RPG developed by Team NINJA, which is known for its action games.

The story takes place in the early days of the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Players take on the role of a volunteer soldier and fight alongside and deepen friendships with such star-studded generals as Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Sun Ken, and Cao Cao. The combination of Team NINJA's speedy action and the exciting setting that allows players to fight alongside generals from any country, even those who do not belong to any nation, is a history buff's dream come true.

In this title, players will engage in fierce battles against the Yellow Turban Party, humans, and eerie demons. Enemies lurk here and there on the map, waiting to ambush you or hounding you. When you go to pick up a fallen item, the enemies attack you as if to say, "We've been waiting for you! The craftsmanship is evident in the exquisite placement of traps, such as when you pick up a fallen item and the enemy attacks you, or when a bridge collapses under your feet, or when you are surrounded by multiple newcomers as you flee from the enemy. ......

The main character is able to perform a "light jump" (two-step jump), and the map is spread out three-dimensionally. The game allows you to jump across the roofs of buildings to raid enemies below or avoid powerful enemies, and the exploration is interesting.

Enemies and allies each have their own morale, and the higher the morale, the stronger the enemy. It is dangerous to challenge enemies with different morale, but if you can defeat them, you will receive a tasty drop for it.

In battles, the main weapons used are melee weapons such as straight swords, double-edged weapons, and hammers, while hermetic arts, martial arts (like magic and weaponry skills), and flying weapons are also used in tense battles. Enemies are strong and numerous, and even small fry commonly use secret techniques that cannot be guarded against, making it difficult to win if you just charge headlong into the fray.

The key to success lies in the unique Kisei and Kakei systems. Understanding this system allows the player to enjoy Chinese martial arts-like movements that determine counterattacks with fluid movements, as well as the high-density battles in which there are setbacks and reversals within a single battle.

Ki sei are the resources needed to use senjutsu and martial arts. In most games, these resources "start full, deplete when skills are used, and are separate from weapon attacks. In this game, however, they "start at zero, increase when you attack with a weapon or perform a kajin, and decrease when you use a martial or hermetic skill, receive an attack, or guard against an attack. In other words, if you are on the defensive, you will lose Ki and fall into poverty, but if you fight aggressively with your weapons, your Ki will increase and you will be able to use more and more Senjutsu and martial arts. The key point is that Ki force can swing from zero to positive or negative, and it is thrilling to be able to use Senjutsu to turn the tide in a big way, even if your Ki force goes into the negative.

Deeply connected to ki jing is hua jin, a special defense that allows the opponent's attacks to be deflected. It is effective against a wide variety of attacks, including human weapons, demonic claws and fangs, enemy hermetic techniques, and even large trees that roll down from the top of a hill.

Successfully performing a hua jing will nullify the attack and boost your ki, giving you the chance to counterattack. Since the opponent's attacks have a fixed pattern, observing their movements is a shortcut to hagaeki. It is very exhilarating when you can perform a series of attacks on a giant demon.

The ki sei frequently goes up and down with each successful attack, each successful jaeger, and each hit. Even if you are attacking well, a momentary lapse of attention can be fatal. However, even when the enemy's attacks drive you back, a well-aimed and successful hua jing can give you the upper hand in an instant. The ideal situation is to attack vigorously while calmly observing the opponent's movements, and even if the opponent counterattacks, you can use hua jing to parry the counterattack and then attack again. In other words, you can fight like a kung fu master in a kung fu movie, which is a feeling that only a game based on Chinese themes can provide.

The fact that the enemy also has its own ki jing makes the battles even deeper. The relationship between the enemy's and my ki is like a seesaw: if I attack, my ki goes up while the enemy's goes down. The reverse is also true. If we attack in succession and make the enemy's ki-sense swing to the minus side, the enemy will be in a defenseless state of ki-sense failure. When the enemy is in this state, you can use your special attack, Zekiatsu, to inflict heavy damage. To lower the enemy's ki, you can not only parry the enemy's attack with hua jin, but also use your own ki to launch a ki attack. Kisei attacks can greatly reduce the upper and lower limits of the enemy's Ki, and as a result, the enemy is more likely to fall into a state of Ki deflation.

The player must not only watch the enemy's movements, but also manage his own and the enemy's kiatsu, which rise and fall sharply, and use hua jin and kiatsu attacks to cut down when the opportunity arises, aiming for a reversal when he is cornered. The battles in this title are extremely intense, requiring full use of the player's reflexes and brain power.

The boss battles are where the appeal of this type of battle can be fully appreciated.

The bosses have a wide variety of attack patterns, from weapons to arcane techniques, each of which can be very powerful or have a wide range. The most terrifying of all is the secret technique. The red light of the omen is enough to make you shudder.

At first, it is not unusual to be completely blocked, but after repeated battles and deaths, the player may start to think, "I wonder if I can use the Haga Jing against this move. "Can't I use haga-jing for that move? The light comes out little by little. The kisei cutting is more important than fighting small fry, and sometimes a medium-term perspective is required, such as aiming for kisei attacks even if it is forced.

In addition, there is a compatibility of attributes based on the five elements (gojyo: a Chinese belief that all things are composed of fire, water, wood, metal, and earth) in each other's hermetic arts. The enemy's sacral arts can be nullified by applying the sacral art of the attribute that is in conflict with the enemy's sacral art, so it is important to choose which sacral art to use beforehand.

In this way, the boss battles contain the essence of this work. The more times you fight bosses, the more you will be able to overpower them. And since the weapons and armor that drop are randomly assigned abilities, you will want to fight them over and over again.

The system in this game, especially the Ki system, has its own peculiarities, which may be confusing to first-time players. However, once you understand it, you will be fascinated by the thrill and depth of the game. The battle system is based on the same principles as those used in the original "The resources you have in battle increase or decrease, and you can use techniques that reduce the enemy's upper limit to gain an advantage," and "You can take special measures to deal with the enemy's big unguardable moves, which give you a chance to turn the tables on them. The battle system has its origins in the Ki and Yoku and special moves in "Nioh 2," also developed by Team NINJA. In "Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty," the two types of resources used in "Nioh 2" (Ki and Yoku) are integrated into a single Ki element. The system for dealing with major moves has also been improved to make the system easier to understand, with the special technique system, which had three types of timing, being unified as a defensive action that can also be used as a normal technique, as well as a Kajin. ......

And as is customary with Team NINJA's action RPGs, the more time that passes since their release, the more they mature, and "Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty" is no exception to this rule, with various improvements.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Complete Edition" offers all of these benefits, as well as new weapons such as the exhilarating hand armor for continuous attacks, the long sword for parrying attacks while taming, the long whip for a special mode of attack that consumes Ki, and new collaborators including the saber from "Lies of P" (a curved The collaborative equipment, including the "Lies of P" saber (curved sword), can also be used immediately.

The first DLC, "Battle for the Middle Plains," features the forces of Cao Cao. Cao Cao's former servants such as Tian Wei and Xu Chou also make an appearance and face new dangers such as the new stages "Ejingcheng" and "Nisan" and demons such as Katou and Hyosan. The aforementioned hand armor and "NARAKA: BLADEPOINT" collaboration equipment will be implemented here.

The second DLC, "The Little High King of Jiangdong," is themed on Wu, including Sun Saku, and allows players to fight against famous generals such as Gan Ning and Taishiji. In addition to the powerful longsword, the "Way of the Heavenly Dragon," a high difficulty mode with a higher level limit, and the "Thousand-Mile Journey to the Magic World," a randomly generated battlefield and route, make the game challenging enough to be played over and over again. The collaboration with "Lies of P" also took place around this time, and players of this game were able to obtain "doll sabers" and "etiquettes," both of which were very popular with the players of "Lies of P.

The third DLC, "Wind and Cloud in Jingzhou," tells the story of Liu Bei and his family in more depth. Liu Bei's wife, Eros, also makes an appearance, and fans of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms will find it irresistible. The long whip, with its wide attack range, is implemented here. An interesting new piece of equipment is the resourcefulness. The new equipment has both advantages and disadvantages, such as "cannot use hermetic arts, but increases the damage of martial arts," and also has various special effects. The "Way of the Dragon King," the highest level of difficulty, and the "Great Achiever Correction," which allows players to raise their abilities beyond their limits, open up an even deeper world.

In addition, there is a collaboration with "Nioh 2," in which players can fight the boss, Matouki (Mezuki). The boss is a familiar one from the "Nioh 2" series, from training to practice, and should be nostalgic for those who have played "Shu-no-ji" in the past. This title, which combines a deep system with a challenging difficulty level, will surely satisfy the core action game fans.
