Project ANIMA" is an open call project to create original animation works representing the 2020s.
Following "Sacugan" (produced by Satellite, to be broadcast in 2021), which was selected in the first "Science Fiction/Robot Animation Division," the grand prize winner in the second "Other World/Fantasy Division," "The Story of a Girl Who Couldn't Become a Magician" (official abbreviation: "Mahonare"), will be broadcast in October 2024, The main staff, image visual, and first PV were released.

The work is a magical school fantasy that depicts the growth of two girls with opposite dreams of becoming wizards and their friendship with their unique classmates at a magic school. The anime's original story is based on an original idea that appeared on the novel submission site "Everista.

General director is Takashi Watanabe, who has worked on a number of blockbuster fantasy works, including the "Slayers" series and the "Shakugan no Shana" series. Directed by Masato Matsune of "WIXOSS DIVA(A)LIVE," "The Seven Magic Swords Rule" and "Pokemon Evolutions. Series composition and script by Hiroko Kanasugi of "MUCCLE DREAMY" and "The Slow Life of Cheat Yakushi". Animation production will be handled by J.C. STAFF, creator of many hit works such as the "Toaru" series and "It's Wrong to Ask to Meet in a Dungeon.
