The "Nekoniku no Manyou" main store building, a landmark in Akihabara, will close its doors on Sunday, March 31, 2024, bringing an end to its 33-year history.

The main "Nekoniku no Manyou" building was a 10-story building that once housed a variety of "Nekoniku no Manyou" stores on each floor.

The grade of the stores gradually increased from the lower floors to the upper floors, and it was said that eating the finest teppan steak on the top 10 floors was the status of Akiban residents, but the business was scaled down due to the Corona disaster in 2020, and in 2021, the building was sold to Nittetsu Kowa Real Estate Co. (The stores on each floor were apparently still operating after that in the form of leasebacks).

The closing of the main "Nekoniku no Manyou" building and the associated closing dates for the stores on each floor have now been announced: the Western-style restaurant on the 3rd floor will close on March 20 (Wed), the Western-style restaurant on the 4th floor on March 31 (Sun), and the Manyou noodle store and the convenience store on the 1st floor on March 31 (Sun).

Future business in the Akihabara area will be conducted by the "Yakiniku no Banze Akihabara Store" already in operation and the "Nekoniku no Banze Akiba Place Store" scheduled to open on March 25, 2024 (Monday). The AKIBA PLACE location, which will house the "NIKU NO MANZE AKIBA PLACE Store," is the building along Chuo-dori Avenue that also houses the Excelsior Cafe Akihabara Chuo-dori Store.
