Meat! Eggs! And sticky noodles! An immoral carbohydrate combo! Renjishi Chinese Soba Noodle with Meatballs 950 yen

When you come to Akihabara, you may have a hard time deciding where to have lunch.

In order to help you choose the right place for lunch, here are some Akiba eats recommended by Shun Gori, who is a frequent visitor to Akihabara even when he has no other business in Akihabara.

As an Akibaite who likes to spend his money on his hobbies, I will focus on those places where you can eat for less than 1,000 yen, assuming that you can spend less than 1,000 yen for lunch.

You've come to Akihabara, so you want to eat ramen! But I also want to eat rice! But is there any ramen restaurant that can fulfill such a wish? But as I was pondering this question, I heard a rumor that a new restaurant had recently opened that could fulfill such a wish!

So this time, we visited "Renjishi," a restaurant that serves not only delicious ramen but also tasty rice.

Renjishi is a 3-minute walk from the Showadori exit of JR Akihabara Station, or 30 seconds from Iwamotocho Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. Since it is a bit confusing, let me explain the directions.

After exiting the Showa-dori Exit of JR Akihabara Station, cross the Showa-dori crossing in front of the station.

Turn right in front of "Korakuen" Chinese noodle restaurant, and after a while, you will see a dispensing pharmacy. After a short distance, you will see a sign for "Meatball Chinese Soba Noodle".

The sign in front of the restaurant reads, "Akihabara's No.1 Ramen that makes your rice go faster. This is exactly what I was looking for this time, "Meatball Chinese Soba" to fulfill my wish for a full meal of both ramen and rice.

The restaurant is rather small, with only 10 seats at the counter. The previous restaurant had 11 seats, but the owner wanted to make it as comfortable as possible for customers, so he purposely reduced the number of seats by one to make room for more space.

There is no specific lunch menu, so you have to choose from the regular menu. However, the price of rice is the same for regular, large, and extra-large portions, so unless you are a big eater, you will never be short.

I ordered the most popular dish, the "Meatball Chinese Soba" for 950 yen.

The first thing that catches the eye is the bright yellow "Mangetsu Tamago" (egg) and the grilled "Yabaeviru" (grilled cheese) in the special sauce made by Hachiya. Next to the yakitobaba are the usual ramen toppings, such as green onions, naruto, and menma, floating in the pork bone broth.

The noodles are straight, medium-thick noodles. To give them a firm texture, tapioca powder is kneaded into the noodles, and they are specially made and boiled in exactly two minutes.

A booklet placed on the table includes a "recommended way to eat" for each menu item. If you read it, you will be able to enjoy the noodles even if it is your first time to try them.

I, too, will try it this way.

First, the noodles are dipped in a thick "kosari" type broth, which is made from chicken and pork and has both light and rich flavors, and then slurped!

Although there is no "meat" or "egg" mixed in yet, it is delicious enough in this state! I encourage everyone to try just slurping the noodles at first.

Next, let the yakiniku soak into the soup and take a sip. The grilled meat, cooked in a special sauce made by the Hautian family, is sweetly seasoned and goes well with the noodles I mentioned earlier!

Then, I mashed the "full moon egg" that had been on my mind for a long time, and took another slurp of the noodles!

The "mangetsu tamago" is a very rich yolk, and when dissolved in the soup, it changes the taste considerably. The thick soup became mellow at once.

Next, it says, "Toss the yakiniku with the full moon egg, bounce it on rice, and chew it together." ......, but here I realized that I had not ordered rice! This is because if I ordered the 950-yen "Meatball Chinese Soba" with 150-yen "rice," I would have exceeded the 1,000-yen rule! But under the circumstances, there was no way I could finish my meal without rice!

The total price would be 1,100 yen, but I took the plunge and ordered rice! This is the "Meatball Chinese Soba Noodle" in its complete form!

Now you can "toss the yakiniku into the full moon egg, bounce it around on the rice, and chew it together!

The sweet yakiniku meat, the thick mangetsu egg, and the chunky noodles with the rich broth and rice all come together to create an all-encompassing combination that keeps the chopsticks going.

In the end, I poured all the soup over the rice and gobbled it down without hesitation!

The phrase "Akihabara's No.1 ramen that makes rice go further" was no exaggeration. ......

Once again, I am glad I referred to the "Recommended Servings". I hope everyone will eat it by referring to the "recommended way to eat" at first!

By the way, the richness of the "full moon egg" was amazing. ...... Shun Gori left the restaurant with a promise in his heart, "Next time, I will definitely have the double meat and rice tamago.
