Sony Interactive Entertainment today, Wednesday, March 13, began distributing the latest PlayStation 5 update to users worldwide. The update includes improved sound capabilities for the DualSense wireless controller and the ability to interact with viewers via Share Screen.
Share Screen interactions will also be available through the mobile app via an update to the PlayStation App, which is scheduled to be released later this month.

DualSense Wireless Controller Sound Enhancements


The device software for the DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers has been updated to improve sound functionality.

Controller Speaker Improvements

The controller's speaker can now play sound at a louder volume. Game sounds and voice chat voices can now be enjoyed with greater sound clarity.

Improved noise canceling performance of the controller's microphone

The input quality of the controller's microphone has been improved by reducing the sound of button operations and ambient noise through the newly introduced AI machine learning. When chatting using the controller's microphone, your voice will be heard more clearly by the other party.

Share Screen Interaction



The device software for the DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers has been updated to improve sound functionality.

Players watching Share Screen in full screen mode can now use pointers and emoji reactions on the gameplay screen.


Viewing players can guide the host's gameplay by moving the pointer on the gameplay screen to draw a line or display a "spot" that temporarily points to a screen location. Viewing players can visually express their congratulations and encouragement of the action during gameplay by sending pictorial reactions.

Brightness adjustment of the PS5 main unit's power indicator



The brightness of the power indicator on the PS5 console can now be adjusted.

[Go to Settings > System > Beeps and Lamps and adjust the brightness.
