The original idea is based on the PC browser & smartphone app game "Touken Ranbu ONLINE".
The game is a sword training simulation game in which players take on the role of a priest (saniwa) and lead "sword men," famous swords transformed into warriors, to fight for the preservation of history. Since its launch in January 2015, "Touurabu" or "Sword Ranbu ONLINE" has gained a huge following and has contributed to the sword boom that has swept the nation. It has been successfully produced in numerous media mixes, including anime, musicals, consumer games, stage performances, movies, and kabuki, and has taken the entertainment world by storm.

The stage "Toukendanbu," which premiered in 2016, has become a popular series with 15 productions in the series to date, attracting many audiences with its profound and moving story and powerful sword fighting scenes. The title of the new anime based on the script of the first "Touken Ranbu" stage production has been decided as "Touken Ranbu Mawai -Kyoden Konyuru Honnouji-" and it will start airing in April 2024.

Urashima Toratetsu (CV: Fukushima Jun)

A Wakizashi made by Toratoru, a swordsmith active in the Edo period. It was inherited by the Ikeda family, the feudal lord of Tottori.

The name comes from the image of Urashima Taro carved on the blade.

His character is innocent and can make friends with anyone.
