Spring Anime "Wolf and Spice MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF" theme song information released! OP will be sung by Hana Hope and ED by ClariS!

The opening and ending theme song information for the TV anime "Wolf and Spice merchant meets the wise wolf," which will begin airing in April 2024 in TV Tokyo and other locations, has been released.

Published by KADOKAWA Dengeki Bunko, "Wolf and Spice" is a very popular light novel that won the 12th Dengeki Novel Award (Gold Prize) and will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2021. The series has now sold more than 5 million copies in total, and the sequel "Wolf and Spice Spring Log" and the spin-off series "Shin-setsu: Wolf and Spice, Wolf and Parchment" have also been published, boasting high popularity not only in Japan but also overseas.

A completely new anime project, "Wolf and Spice: merchant meets the wise wolf," announced as the series' 15th anniversary finale project, will be broadcast in April 2024. Animation production will be handled by Paschone. It has also been announced that Jun Fukuyama (playing Kraft Lawrence) and Ami Koshimizu (playing Holo), who also voiced the previous anime series, will continue their roles.

The opening and ending theme song information was revealed at the advance screening of episodes 1-4 held today at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro, TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku, and TOHO Cinemas Umeda. The opening theme song will be sung by Hana Hope.
The opening theme song will be sung by Hana Hope and the ending theme song by ClariS. At the screening, the opening theme song "Tabi no Yukue" by Hana Hope and the ending theme song "Andante" by ClariS were shown for the first time in an animation movie.

In addition, a trailer featuring the opening theme: Hana Hope "Tabi no Yukue" and ending theme: ClariS "Andante" will be released on March 21 (Thu.) at 19:00 on the official anime website, official X and TOHO animation YouTube channel.

─ How did you feel when it was decided that you would be in charge of the opening theme?
I was honestly happy to be able to work with a work with such a long history. It is the opening of a story, so I thought I would do my best to make the content exciting.

───What were your impressions of the original story and scenario of "Wolf and Spice"?
I could picture before my eyes the vast meadows and small villages of the European Middle Ages, a very peaceful countryside surrounded by nature. I could even feel the wind rushing through the air. The various events that took place during the road trip of the main characters, Lawrence and Holo, were interesting and made me want to see the next episodes more and more.

─ ─ Please tell us about the title of the song and your thoughts behind the music.
The main character and Holo, who spends time with the main character, is a wolf incarnate and would normally be feared, but in fact she is a cute, fun, and cheerful girl. So I sang the song in a warm and humanistic way, but at the same time, I sang it gently so that it would echo out over the meadow in the open air to express the nobility of the wolf, which is a god.

─ ─ Do you have a message for those who are looking forward to the anime?
Please start with the opening song. Please enjoy watching it while anticipating the "whereabouts of the journey," which is also the title of the song. It might be even more exciting if you watch it with tails and ears! :)

18 years old, born in Tokyo in 2006.
She started her career as a singer at the age of 13, when she participated in the tribute concert "Yellow Magic Children" to commemorate the 40th anniversary of YMO in 2019.
She has performed with many musicians including Yukihiro Takahashi, Towa Tei, and ROTH BART BARON. In 2021, she also appeared as a voice actor in Mamoru Hosoda's movie "The Dragon and the Freckled Princess.
In July 2023, she made her major debut with "flowers" from Sony Music.

──How did you feel when it was decided that you would be in charge of the ending theme?
I was very happy! I was so happy! We were so excited to be able to color the ending of the wonderful anime ''Wolf and Spice''! I was so excited to see the story of the anime and to think that the song would give a new atmosphere to ClariS, and I couldn't wait for the anime to air.

───What were your impressions of the original story and scenario of "Wolf and Spice"?
It makes me smile because I can feel from their conversations that Lawrence and Horo trust each other as they open up to each other! I think that the gap between the two is fascinating because of the innocence and the firmness of Holo, which I cannot imagine from his age, and I feel that Lawrence's kind-hearted and straightforward personality is conveyed even more by the presence of Holo!

───Please tell us the name of the song and your thoughts behind the music.
Andante" is a musical term meaning ''as fast as you can walk! As the title suggests, the song has a comfortable tempo, just like walking, and I feel that the strength and weakness in the sound expresses the change of emotions ♫ And besides the andante, the song also expresses my budding feelings for ''you'' in musical terms, which makes me very happy when I sing it♪. 前向きになれる曲なので是非たくさん聴いてください♡

─ Do you have a message for those who are looking forward to the anime?
