The "Daicoku Drug Akihabara West Exit Store" is now preparing to open at the site of the long-vacant former Volks building (15-4, Sotokanda 1-chome, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).
This building has been the subject of various speculations, such as "it will become a game center" and "the building will be demolished" after "Volks Akihabara Hobby Paradise 1" closed and moved to the current "Volks Akihabara Hobby Paradise 2" on May 16, 2021. It was strange that the building had been vacant for several years, since it was a building that one could see immediately upon exiting Akihabara Station and was in an undisputed prime location, but information about the opening of a new store had not come in for quite some time.
The official opening date has not yet been confirmed, but according to the staff recruiting flyer, it is scheduled to open in "early April.
Akihabara has recently seen many drugstores opening in the area. It will be interesting to see if the "Electric Town Exit" will become the "Drugstore Exit" in the future.
