HDMI connection and higher resolution for clear, high-quality images on large screens

When conventional retro game consoles are connected to today's high-resolution TVs, the images may appear blurred, and for some models, the connection itself may not be possible. For this reason, Retro Freak uses the HDMI connection that is the mainstream for today's TVs. In addition, the game screen output from Retro Freak is automatically displayed at a higher resolution of 720p, allowing users to play retro games with higher quality video and audio than with conventional consoles.

Quick Save even with a battery-depleted cassette

Even if the battery backup is already dead and the cassette cannot save the save data, simply save as usual during the game and the save data will be saved on the RetroFreak itself. Saved data saved on the RetroFreak itself can be backed up to a microSD or PC (via microSD) without the worry that the data will be lost when the battery runs out. In addition, if save data remains on the cassette, it can be imported into the main unit, or save data created on RetroFreak can be exported to the cassette.

Save anywhere in the game

With Retro Freak, you can quick-save anywhere during a game and resume from there at any time. If you make a quick save just before a difficult scene, you can easily try again. Also, even in games that require a password to continue, a quick save allows the player to continue without having to write down the password. The Quick Save function can save up to 100 data for each game, and is compatible with all games that run on RetroFreak.

Cartridge games can be installed.

With conventional retro game consoles, a user could play a game only as long as a cartridge was connected. However, with Retro Freak, games can be installed from a connected cartridge, and can then be played without connecting a cartridge. This eliminates the need to remove and insert cartridges, preventing deterioration of the valuable cartridge terminals and eliminating the hassle of inserting and removing cartridges, greatly improving ease of play.

A separate microSD card is required to use the install function.
The cartridges that can be installed are limited to those owned by the user.
Installed games can only be used on the Retrofreak console used for installation.
Whether or not to install can be selected for each game. Even if the game is not installed, it can be played as long as the cartridge is connected, just as with previous machines.

Code Freak function for all models

Code Freak is a convenient function that allows you to max out parameters such as money and level in the game, change items, and make your character invincible. With Retro Freak, the Code Freak function can be used on all compatible models.
The Code Freak function requires a password-like number called a "secret code" for each game, and the Retro Freak general support page offers free secret codes for about 1,000 titles that can be used simply by inserting them into a microSD card (sold separately).

To use the "Code Freak" function, a microSD card and a PC with Internet access are required.

Various settings are available to suit your preferences, including video filters, wide stereo, and overclocking (speeding up or slowing down the game).
Can be used with genuine PS5/PS4/PS3 controllers and CYBER Gaming Controller HG series and other controllers manufactured by CYBER.
Only wired connection is supported.
The button layout of the controller can be freely changed.
Genuine controllers and peripheral devices for various retro game consoles can also be used.
