Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile" Review Available 3/21! The hit battle royale can be played on smartphones!
The smartphone game "Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile" has been available since March 21, 2024. This title is a smartphone adaptation of Call of Duty: Warzone, an ongoing battle royale in the world-renowned "Call of Duty" series of first-person shooters. Here is a review of the game.
Call of Duty" can be played with tap operation.
Since this title is for smartphones, all controls are done with taps and swipes. The viewpoint can be moved with a swipe, and other actions such as holding a gun, attacking, jumping, and getting down can be done simply by tapping the buttons displayed on the screen. There are two types of attack methods: "auto mode," in which the player shoots when holding the gun, and "manual mode," in which the player shoots at any timing while looking through the gun's sights. The manual mode allows you to aim more precisely, but you can also swipe to adjust your aim while shooting, so there is no problem with the auto mode.
Collecting items, equipment, and overcoming obstacles is also done automatically. There is no need to tap every single time, allowing the player to concentrate on movement and combat. To exchange weapons, players need to tap the weapon icon displayed at the bottom of the screen. Overall, the controls are simple, and players will quickly become accustomed to them after starting with the tutorial, which is the first challenge, and playing a few matches in battle royale mode.
Using the Bluetooth function, the game can also be played with an external controller such as the DualSense. For this review, we actually played with the DualSense connected to the game, and the feel of the controls was good. The fact that you do not tap the displayed buttons gives you a clear view of the screen, making it easier to fight, and you do not have to worry about pressing the wrong position. Tapping is sufficient for those new to this title, but those who are already familiar with the original "Call of Duty: Warzone" (hereafter referred to as "Warzone") may want to use the various controllers.
Two types of games can be played: battle royale and multiplayer.
There are two types of gameplay available in this title: Battle Royale and Multiplayer. In Battle Royale, the main mode, up to 120 players descend on a single field to collect supplies and battle other players in an attempt to be the last survivor. There are multiple rules within the battle royale, and the number of team members and participants varies depending on the rules. The largest is a four-player team, with a total of 120 participants. The smallest is a "solo" team of only one person, and no team itself is formed. The number of participants for this rule is 78.
The interesting thing about the battle royale mode is that it does not always go as planned, as it is up to luck to know what equipment will be found in what locations. There are times when you have to make do with a handgun or submachine gun you picked up early in the game, and there are also times when you get a gun with parts from a nearby box early on and are able to overwhelm the other players with everything you have.
However, unlike the multiplayer mode described below, the objective in Battle Royale is to survive to the end, so you don't necessarily have to fight enemies. The more you explore, the more likely you are to encounter enemies, so it is possible to compromise on equipment and proceed while hiding.
However, in battle royale, the area of gas surrounding the field expands periodically. Once you enter the gas area, you will continuously take damage, so it is essential to move to a safe zone. However, the expansion of the gas area also means that the safe zone shrinks, and as the game progresses, the chances of encountering enemies who have also escaped from the gas increase.
Considering the shrinking safe zone and the likelihood of encountering enemies, as well as the various risks and possibilities, the players are forced to choose between gathering equipment at the risk of being killed, or prioritizing safety and hiding with a minimum of equipment. This tactic is exciting and fun. As already mentioned, the locations of the equipment are random, so no two battles are ever the same, which makes the player want to try again, hoping for the next one.
In battle royale, the risk of being defeated once is very high, since you cannot revive as many times as you can in multiplayer. However, this title also offers a remedy for players who have been defeated. Players with zero health will be disabled once, but they can revive themselves or be rescued by their friends. If he succeeds, he can return to the game.
If a player is defeated by an enemy, he is sent to a "concentration camp," where he will engage in single combat with another player who has also been sent to a camp. If the player wins this battle, he or she is resurrected on the spot. Even if they lose, they may be resurrected through the "purchase station" if they have collected a certain amount of money from their friends who are still alive. Beginners will especially appreciate the three means of resurrection: revival when they become incapacitated, single combat in the POW camp, and the purchase station.
On the other hand, in the "Multiplayer" mode, players can enjoy battles with different rules from Battle Royale, such as "Hardpoint," in which players battle each other for positions that change periodically. Although it depends on which rules you play, there is basically no penalty for being killed in multiplayer compared to battle royale. In other words, you can die to your heart's content, so if you are not confident in your shooting skills, this is a good place to practice.
As will be explained in more detail later, multiplayer allows you to efficiently raise your weapon level, as you will be shooting at enemies for almost the entire duration of the match. As you level up, attachments for each weapon will be released one by one, so it is recommended to use this method when leveling up as well.
Customizable elements to change gun barrels, stocks, sights, etc. in detail
In the main menu before entering a match, you can set the " load-out " in advance. This allows you to register the guns you will use, the parts you will install, and "perks" that give you special powers, etc. In Battle Royale, this is available when you obtain a "loadout drop", and in multiplayer, it is available just before the match.
Among the elements available as loadouts, the "gunsmith" is the deepest. This feature allows various attachments to be added to weapons such as submachine guns and assault rifles, allowing the length of the barrel and the size of the magazine used to be customized in detail.
Even a submachine gun, which is normally strong in close-range combat, can be made to fight at medium ranges like an assault rifle by attaching a longer barrel that extends its range. Conversely, an assault rifle, which excels at medium ranges, can be used as a powerful submachine gun by replacing its default barrel with a shorter type. The "A" type is a submachine gun with a powerful and powerful submachine gun. The fundamental performance of the gun can be changed depending on the attachment, so you can
You can play around with various guns to your liking.
However, guns at the initial level cannot be fitted with any attachments. As you use the gun to defeat enemies and advance through the levels, you will be able to unlock the gun little by little. If you want to increase the number of attachments you can choose from, you must first play battle royale and multiplayer matches to raise the level of your target.
This title follows in the footsteps of the original "Warzone" already in distribution, and the quality is consistently high. The intuitive tap and swipe controls are easy to understand, and the many revival methods in the battle royale allow even beginners to play without hesitation. In the multiplayer mode, players can enjoy intense shootouts, which is different from the battle royale mode, so it is a great way to not only relax but also to level up your weapons. This game is especially recommended for those who want to start FPS and those who like to play against other players.
