Spring Anime "Kaiju No. 8" to start airing on April 13 (Sat)! Episode 1 synopsis and advance cutaways are now available!

Naoya Matsumoto's popular comic "Kaiju 8", which has been serialized on Shueisha's manga magazine app "Shonen Jump+" since July 2020, has won numerous manga awards and has already published 12 volumes with a total domestic circulation of over 13 million copies (including digital editions). Its popularity is not limited to the domestic market, but has spread to North America and other countries as well.

When it was announced in August 2022 that Production I.G (animation production) and Studio Color (monster design and works) would produce an anime version of the series, the work and anime fans were delighted, and it became a hot topic of conversation. The work has also been highly anticipated due to its unprecedented broadcasting and distribution system, which includes broadcast on the Teletext network and real-time worldwide distribution via X (Twitter).

<Synopsis

Japan is threatened by monsters on a daily basis. Kafka Hibino, who was aiming to join the "Japan Defense Force" to defeat the monsters, gives up his dream and works for a cleaning company specializing in monsters. While he is thinking about his promise to fight monsters together with his childhood friend, Mina Ashira, who is the captain of the 3rd Defense Force, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa, a junior who wants to become a member of the Defense Force.
