Magical girls and evil used to be enemies. is a romantic love comedy serialized in the monthly magazine "GANGAN JOKER" (Square Enix) from 2013 to 2015, based on the manga by Fujiwara Kokoa, a manga artist known for her popular works such as "Youkusu x Boku SS" (Inuboku Secret Service). The main characters are Mira, an evil conspirator who is trying to destroy the world, and Byakuya Fukamori, a magical girl who fights to protect the world! Their "love that kills" is depicted in a comical and cute way, and their worldview has captivated readers.

The original work was discontinued after the sudden death of Kokoa Fujiwara in 2015, but when the TV anime adaptation by animation production BONES was announced last November, the 10th anniversary of the original serialization, "Mahoaku Anime Adaptation" ranked first in Japanese trends on X. The 3rd PV ~Side Evil Counselor~ has been released!

The third PV - Side Evil Counselor - has been released. Additional cast members have also been announced and their comments have arrived.

Kenichi Suzumura, Ayako Kawasumi, Hiro Shimono, Nao Higashiyama, Takumi Yamazaki, and Takaya Doji have been chosen as the cast members who will play the overly peculiar executives of the "evil organization" that seeks to destroy the world.

This PV is a counterpart to the previously released 2nd PV - Side Magical Girls, and depicts the "evil organization" that seeks to destroy the world and is hostile to magical girls, with the evil chief conspirator Mira as the central figure.
The film depicts a cold-hearted and terrifying figure of evil with frightening and profound music in the background.... The PV is about a minute long and gives a glimpse into the story of "supposed to be enemies....

Third PV -Side Evil Counselor

In addition, the cast members who play the leaders of the evil organization were also announced. Kenichi Suzumura plays the innocent Formalhaut, who has known Mira for a long time; Ayako Kawasumi plays Bellatrix, who has an intense delusion; Hiro Shimono plays Alcyone, who is a lady and an expert on the female mind; Nao Higashiyama plays Spica, who looks young but is already an adult; Takumi Yamazaki plays Sadal Soud, who loves to research; and Takashi Doji plays Betelgeuse, the oldest of the three. The first broadcast of the TV anime will begin on July 9, 2024 (Tuesday) on TOKYO MX, BS11, and AT-X.

The monthly magazine "Gungan JOKER" will be reprinting a review of the original story, "Magical Girls and Evil Used to Be Enemies." A review of the original story will be reprinted in the June issue, which will go on sale soon, on May 22 (Wed.). The comic book will be released on June 12 (Wed.), with the first and second volumes going on sale at the same time.

Bellatrix: Ayako Kawasumi

The staff members have delicately and carefully expressed the cute and slightly chaotic atmosphere of the original work in the anime, and I can feel their love for the original work. I am very happy to be able to participate in it with the same cast as in the drama CD. The character I play, Bellatrix, is cool, but in fact......she has a very cute gap between the two. I will do my best to play the role so that I can reach all the fans who are looking forward to the anime Mahoaku, as well as Ms. Fujiwara Kokoa.

Archeone: Hiro Shimono

When in the world has it been since "Magical Girls and Evil Used to be Enemies? I was surprised, but I am very happy because I never thought I would have the opportunity to play Alcyone again! The character I play, Alcyone, often appears with Spica, played by Nao Higashiyama, and the two of us tease the members of the evil organization and make jokes about them. I really enjoyed playing her because she is a onee character, which is not easy to come by!

I am happy to be able to play the role of Spica once again, after having played the role on the drama CD that I participated in in 2015. I immediately watched the PV and was almost sucked in by the charm of the beautiful and fragile Byakuya. ...... I felt that the fact that the work has been carefully crafted into a wonderful animation and visualized in this age is due to the feelings that the people around Ms. Fujiwara Kokoa and the fans of her work have cherished for so long. The first time I met Ms. Kokoa was in the studio where we recorded the drama CD.
After that, we became friends through SNS, etc. and he said, "Let's go drinking the next time I come to Tokyo!
I regret that we couldn't make it happen. Nine years have passed since then and ...... has decided to make an anime with the cast from that time! I too am looking forward to the O.A. in July. I think that Kokoha-sensei is smiling and cheering us on from up in the sky.

■Betelgeuse: Takaya Doji

Huh? He doesn't have much advance information, a lot of appearances, and few lines. If you look at the picture, he looks serious and single-minded... I usually play characters who are initially calm but are actually evil, and this is the case where I am most unsure about my role. Fortunately, the sound director was Eriko Kimura, who has been a great help to me. She guided me well and we were able to finish without incident. Thank you very much.
