According to the official website of 81 Produce, Mr. Umezu passed away on May 17, 2024 due to interstitial pneumonia. He was 68 years old.
According to the family's wishes, the funeral was held only with relatives.

Hideyuki Umezu made his voice acting debut in 1982 as Dr. Highbrow in "Cybot Robotch. He has been a famous voice actor as David Rutherford in "Aoki Ryusei SPT Reisner," Ian Vasti in "Mobile Suit Gundam 00," Elect in "Break Blade," Arthur Weasley (played by Mark Williams) in the "Harry Potter" series, and narrator in "Machikado Mazoku" as well as many other famous by-players. He was active in many animations, live-action dubbing, and narrations as a "voice-over artist" for "Machikado Mazoku.
