New original theatrical anime "Housenka" by Mugi Kinoshita, Watsuya Konomoto, and CLAP is in production!

A new original theatrical animation "Housenka" by Mugi Kinoshita, Watsuya Konomoto and CLAP is currently in production. It has also been selected to participate in the Annecy International Animated Film Festival 2024 "Work in Progress" program.

The film is a collaboration between Mugi Kinoshita (director and character design) and Watsuya Konomoto (screenplay), the creative team behind the original TV animation "Odd Taxi," which drew attention for its unpredictable story, and CLAP, the production studio behind "Eiga Daisuki Ponpo-san" and "Natsu e no Tunnel, Sayonara no Exit" which drew attention at film festivals in Japan and abroad. It was also announced that "Housenka" will participate in the "Work in Progress" program of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival 2024, one of the world's largest animation film festivals, to be held from June 9 to 15, 2024.

Work in Progress" is a program that introduces the making of works that are scheduled to be released in the future, and on Wednesday, June 12 (local time), director Mugi Kinoshita, producer and CLAP president Ryoichiro Matsuo, and concept art director Michinoku Mr. Touge will take the stage to talk to local anime fans.
