[New car models are coming one after another!

Honda Civic SiR II (EG) '93

*Available for purchase as a used car.

The top model of the 5th generation Civic that combines speed and comfort.
The Civic, which was equipped with a VTEC engine and refined its speed, passed the baton to the 5th generation in September 1991. The body was divided into two models: a 3-door hatchback and a 4-door sedan newly named "Ferio," while the 5-door shuttle continued production of the previous generation model. The catch copy was "Sports Civic.

As for engines, the variation was expanded with the new development of VTEC. Based on the 1.3L and 1.5L cab versions, the easy-to-handle 1.5L SOHC VTEC and the fuel-efficient 1.5L VTEC-E were added to the lineup.
At the top of the list is the SiR with a high-power 1.6L DOHC VTEC engine.
The double wishbone suspension, which has become a new Honda standard, is used on all models. The SiR, the symbol of the Sports Civic, delivers 170 PS, an increase of 10 PS over the previous generation.

The suspension system has been fundamentally revised, including spring rates and suspension stroke, to achieve an even sportier setting. The SiR, with simplified equipment and lighter weight, and the SiR-II, with automatic air conditioning, power windows, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, were available, unchanged from the previous generation.

A fresh feature was the addition of a 4-speed AT to the SiR-II; while the gear ratios of the 5-speed MT were crossed for winding roads, the 4-speed AT model was set to emphasize low and mid-range torque, and both maximum output and maximum torque were more modest than the MT model. Nevertheless, the introduction of the AT model had a significant effect, spreading the Civic's sporty image to a wider range of users.

Honda NSX GT500 '00

Available at Legend Car

This JGTC car won the annual championship with a new design that focused on a low center of gravity.
In the GT500 class of the 2000 Japan GT Championship (JGTC), the three major manufacturers, Honda, Toyota, and Nissan, fought a fierce battle never seen before.
The NSX development team decided to make a major design change for the 2000 model year, and began to change the mounting position of the transversely mounted engine. the layout of the transversely mounted V-type engine was effective in shortening the front and rear of the car, but it was difficult to handle the exhaust pipes coming from both banks. Until then, the NSX's exhaust pipes ran under the engine, but the development team decided to move these pipes to the side of the engine and lower the mounting position of the engine itself.
In doing so, the gearbox located next to the engine became an obstacle. The developers tried to downsize this gearbox to create space for the exhaust pipe next to it. A small gearbox was specially designed by diverting gears for thin and compact formula cars.

In the 2000 season, the NSX was entered in the series by five teams. The Castrol Mugen NSX, together with the TAKATA Dome NSX, played the role of works cars in the NSX camp that were undergoing advanced development. The TAKATA DOME NSX showed overwhelming speed, but was hindered by the weight handicap unique to JGTC and missed out on the championship.

On the other hand, Castrol MUGEN NSX showed a steady performance. Driving the car were Ryu Michigami and Osamu Nakako, and in the latter half of the season, Hidetoshi Mitsusada took over Nakako's seat. Castrol MUGEN NSX skillfully controlled the weight handicap by finishing in the top positions and won the series championship.

Nissan Skyline GTS-R (R31) '87

*Available for purchase as a used car.

A unique and monstrous machine born from the luxury line 7th generation Skyline.
Despite the sporty appeal of the previous R30 model, the seventh-generation R31 Skyline, which was introduced in August 1985, changed its route.
At that time in Japan, luxury-oriented 4-door and 2-door models with the concept of so-called "high-souled cars" were a major trend in both sales and popularity. In response to this boom, the Skyline also became more of a luxury saloon. In fact, the lineup at the time of its debut was modest, consisting of a four-door hardtop, a sedan, and a wagon. The 2-door coupe, which fans had expected, was postponed until May 1986.

However, the real star of the seventh generation was to appear later. The GTS-R was a model developed to regain the title in Group A races, and its content was highly sporty. The power unit was based on the 180 PS, 23.0 kgfm RB20DET type straight 6 DOHC turbo from the GTS; the GTS-R combined this with a stainless steel exhaust manifold and T04E turbine to achieve specifications of 210 PS and 25.0 kgfm. The GTS-R engine is also modeled after the RB engine. This engine was a special one, modeled RB20DET-R.

Changes were also made to the suspension and exterior. The normal GTS-X had a front spoiler that popped out when it sensed vehicle speed, but the GTS-R had a fixed spoiler, and a larger rear spoiler was installed. A larger rear spoiler was also fitted.

Group A cars based on the GTS-R were very successful in actual racing, and in 1989, the Reebok Skyline won three victories in the All Japan Touring Car Championship (JTC) and was crowned series champion. On the other hand, the GTS-R caused a controversy among fans over the GT-R. Why not the GT-R? The answer to this question was given in the form of the R32 Skyline GT-R, which appeared two years after the debut of the GTS-R.

Volvo 240 SE Estate '93

Available as a used car

A historical car that introduced the appeal of station wagons to the world.
When you think of Volvo, you think of station wagons. The 240 Estate was the cornerstone of the station wagon era that began in the mid-1980s and continued for a long time until the global SUV boom of the mid-1990s.

The 240 series debuted in 1974 and consisted of the 244, a four-door sedan, the 242, a two-door sedan, and the 245, a five-door wagon. The last of the three digits in the car name represented the number of doors.
It was not until 1983 that they were all unified into "240. In addition, round headlamps were initially used, but were changed to square in 1979. The car continued to be produced until 1993 without major changes in its basic styling, while safety features were enhanced over time, such as the addition of airbags and ABS as standard equipment. The 240 Estate's greatest feature is its styling, which is nothing more than a square from any angle. The long front overhangs were designed to provide a shock-absorbing zone, while the rear overhangs were designed to provide shock absorption and cargo space. Its elongated proportions are part of its appeal.

The interior also has a carefully designed appearance of Scandinavian simplicity. In addition, the seats are soft and comfortable, like sofas. This is also a point of beauty.

The ride quality is created by a tenacious, though not particularly powerful, engine and a suspension that provides a gentle ride without any special mechanisms, making you want to drive slowly and gently without rushing. Even after its production ended and it became a historical masterpiece, there were many users who loved it as a practical car for daily use, which is an extremely rare existence.

Volvo V40 T5 R-Design '13

*Available at Brand Central

Volvo's hit model that combines elements of a sedan, wagon, and coupe.
The V40, which was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Show, is a five-door hatchback model in the C segment and is positioned as Volvo's entry-level model. This is because the V40 was the successor to the S40, a straightforward sedan, the V50, a station wagon for families, and the C30, a sporty 3-door hatchback.

Development started from scratch in order to create a car that fulfills all the elements: the comfort of a sedan, the usability of a wagon, and the sporty, youthful styling. Although the basic framework is based on a platform common to the Ford family, the styling is innovative, and the old conservative image is nowhere to be found. The silhouette has a flowing line structure and a sense of mass, making it look like both a coupe and a wagon.

The T5 R-Design was a worldwide hit upon its debut, attracting attention for its looks and its practicality in accommodating four adults and ample luggage space.

The T5 R-Design is the sportiest model in the series. It is equipped with a 2L inline 5-cylinder turbo engine that delivers 213 PS for enjoyable acceleration, and sports suspension and 18-inch wheels for handling that is both sharp and supple. It also features an exclusive aerodynamic front bumper and rear diffuser, giving it an intrepid image at the same time.
