PlayStation VR2 supports PC gaming! Steam VR games can be played on the adapter, launching Wednesday, August 7.

This will allow users to access Steam's vast library of VR games, including popular games such as Half-Life:Alyx and Fallout 4 VR, to purchase games and play them on PS VR2.

To access PS VR2 on a PC, users must first purchase a PlayStation VR2 PC adapter. This adapter will be available at stores that carry it for 8,480 yen (tax included).
In addition, an off-the-shelf DisplayPort cable compatible with DisplayPort 1.4 (sold separately), a Steam account, and a PC meeting the following specifications are required (*1).

Setting up the adapter is simple: simply connect the PS VR2 to your PC using the PS VR2 PC adapter and DisplayPort 1.4 cable. Next, after downloading the PlayStation VR2 app and the SteamVR app from Steam, the PS VR2 is set up on the PC, settings and play area are customized, and VR games can be purchased and played on Steam.

[Functional differences between PS VR2 and PS5

Since the PS VR2 is designed specifically for PS5, some key features such as HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (*3) are not available when playing on a PC. However, features such as 4K video (2000 x 2040 per eye), approximately 110-degree viewing angle, finger touch functionality, and see-through view are supported, as well as foveated rendering (without eye tracking) and 3D audio for supported games (*4).
