A derivative title based on the bullet-hell shooting game "Touhou Project" created by the circle "Shanghai Alice Phantom. Reimu Hakurei participates in a spell card battle to discover the true intentions of Murasaki Yakumo, who has suddenly started a "Fuse Matsuri," in which players compete to steal spell cards held by each other. This title adopts a system that is a cross between a bullet-hell shooter and a tactical RPG where tactics are important. A remastered version of "Monster Hunter Stories" released for Nintendo 3DS in 2016. The main character, who has grown up as a "rider" who raises monsters and coexists with them, travels to the outside world where hunters hunt monsters and live their lives, and eventually comes face to face with the "Black Fury" that makes monsters go berserk and the truth behind the "Legend of Redan," which describes the origin of the riders. The game features command battles that are distinctly different from those in the previous "Monster Hunter" series, in which players battle using Power, Speed, and Technique commands, instructions to Otomon, and skill commands based on the chemistry of the three groups of monsters.
