Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the latest installment in the globally popular "Call of Duty" series, is set for release on Friday, October 25, 2024, offering a dynamic gameplay experience with a story set in the early 1990s. The traditional prestige system and round-based zombie mode will also return.

More information about "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6," the latest installment in the "Call of Duty" series, was announced at the Xbox Games Showcase and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct on Monday, June 10, Japan time. Developed by Treyarch and RavenSoftware, the thrilling spy action game is set in the early 1990s, a time of transition and upheaval in world politics marked by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a superpower. The game features a cinematic single-player campaign mode, best-in-class multiplayer mode, and signature content from the Black Ops series, including the traditional prestige system and the long-awaited return of the round-based zombie mode.

Campaign

A dynamic gameplay experience with a historically based storyline

Black Ops 6's campaign mode offers a diverse play space with action-packed combat, high-risk assaults, covert espionage, and other dynamic, ever-changing gameplay.
As is typical of Black Ops, players will enjoy a story based on real history.

The story takes place in the early 1990s, when shadowy forces infiltrated the U.S. government.

Players will be transported to the early 1990s, a time of global political upheaval with the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a superpower, where they will become entangled in a conspiracy by shadowy forces that have infiltrated the U.S. government.

Those who resist are branded traitors, and players are forced to bare their fangs for the first time against the mechanism that created them.
A dynamic and intense spy thriller, you won't be able to take your eyes off this gripping story where you don't know who to trust or what the truth is.

Multiplayer

Introducing the Omni-Movement, the best-in-class multiplayer experience.

The multiplayer mode introduces a new "Omni-Movement" feature that, for the first time in Call of Duty history, allows players to sprint in any direction (forward, backward, left or right), allowing them to operate like an action hero.
Also introduced is "Intelligent Movement," which enables a variety of movements with a minimum number of buttons and keys, giving players a best-in-class multiplayer experience thanks to the many innovations developed by Treyarch.

16 new multiplayer maps are now available

A total of 16 new multiplayer maps will be available at launch, including 12 6v6 maps and 4 strike maps that allow players to play 2v2 or face-off 6v6. Many of the maps are small to medium sized maps that innovate on traditional map design with moderate complexity to reduce time to engagement, make player choices meaningful, and optimize the flow and pacing of the action.

Zombies

The return of the round-based zombie mode.

A fan favorite, the highly anticipated round-based Zombies mode returns, continuing the dark ether storyline begun in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Two new round-based zombie maps will be available at launch, each with a mix of both new and familiar elements. More exciting maps and innovative experiences await players post-launch, expanding into both multiplayer and zombie modes.

The Return of the Prestige System

Black Ops 6 marks the return of the classic prestige system.
At maximum player level, players will be able to choose whether or not to enter prestige. There are 10 levels of prestige in "Black Ops 6," each of which offers valuable rewards and equipment that can be used to show off your high status in the game. Players who achieve prestige 10 become prestige masters, with an additional 1,000 levels.

Hit zones have been subdivided into nine for a more realistic experience.

In previous "Call of Duty" games, there were four hit zones: head, neck, upper body, and lower body. In "Black Ops 6," however, the hit zones have been subdivided into nine.
This increases the variety of animations when taking damage and allows players to enjoy a greater variety of kill visuals in campaign and multiplayer modes.
