The latest video of "Mononokai Karakasa the Movie" has been released! The voices of the male characters have been revealed for the first time!

The latest video of "Mononokai Karakasa the Movie" "Special Trailer - Omote no maki" has been released.

This video starts with a cheerful narration by Sakashita (CV. Daisuke Hosomi), the Hiroshikiban of the "Nanatsukuchi" (the seven gates of the inner palace), which is a change from the special trailer and the main trailer, which were impressive with the screams and pained expressions of the female attendants. The male characters are introduced in a lighthearted, fast-paced manner. In addition, the voices of the splendid cast, including Yuki Kaji, Jun Fukuyama, Daisuke Hosomi, Miyu Irino, and Kenjiro Tsuda, were shown for the first time.

In the video, the roles of the "O-oku," the bureaucracy where the ladies work, and the "Omote," the place where the men conduct politics, and the "Nanatsukuchi," the entrance that connects the O-oku to the outside world, are also revealed in some detail.
There are also many stunning art cuts, including the Nanatsukuchi, which features pop paintings of large raccoon dogs and daruma dolls, a glamorous doorway leading into the inner chambers, and a mysterious underground altar where a large amount of water pools.

The film also discusses the existence of the festival that is the crux of the story and the mysterious rituals performed daily by the maidservants.
The inner chambers of the inner palace are abuzz with preparations for a big festival called "Oomochihiki," which is held to pray for the safe birth of the child to be born to Amago (CV. Miyu Irino), the symbol of the shogunate and the highest-ranking person in the house of the shogun, and his wife. The Oomochihiki, which is an important duty of the ladies of the inner palace, was supposed to be held two months ago, but was postponed, and Saburomaru (CV. Yuki Kaji) and Heiki (CV. Jun Fukuyama) were dispatched from the "Omote" to investigate. At the same time as the postponement, there is also information that a certain maid has disappeared, and Saburomaru's suspicions about Utayama, the general director of the Ooku, are deepening.
Furthermore, in order to receive the blessing of "Omizu-sama," a deity worshipped in the inner chambers, the maids perform a daily ritual of drinking water drawn from a well. The presence of a man named Hokuto Mizorogi (CV. Kenjiro Tsuda), a priest of the "Omizu-sama" faith, is also noteworthy.

Why was the "Omochibiki" ceremony postponed? Who is the missing maid? As the mystery deepens, expectations for the theatrical release of the film grow higher and higher as to how the unique male characters will be involved in the story.

Cast comments

Yuki Kaji as Saburomaru

I have been a fan of this series ever since I was shocked when I saw "Kakemono" of "Kai - ayakashi", the starting point of this series, broadcast in 2006.
It is a period drama, yet modern, and it portrays yokai and fascinates human beings at the same time.
Director Kenji Nakamura's one-of-a-kind direction is unforgettable once you see it, and it is alive and well in this film!
I played Saburomaru Tokita with all my heart. I played Saburomaru Tokita with all my heart. Please look forward to the release of the film!

Jun Fukuyama as Motoi Taira

My name is Jun Fukuyama, and I play the role of Hiraki.
I enjoyed "Mononokai" as a viewer, but I never thought I would be cast in it.
I am also grateful to have been given the opportunity to play the role of Hiraki, a role that I really enjoy playing!
I can't say much about it at this stage, but I'm sure it will be a very impressive production, so please come to the theater!

Daisuke Hosomi as Sakashita

I am very honored to be a part of the long-loved "Mononokai" production.
I am also grateful to be cast again in a film by Director Nakamura, with whom I have worked several times before.
I hope you will enjoy the role of Sakashita, who is in charge of security in the inner palace, but is also a bit mischievous and charming.

■Jiyu Irino as Tenko

A genius! I have been eagerly waiting for director Kenji Nakamura's new animation.
I am very happy to be able to participate in the work as a member of the Nakamura group.
I hope you enjoy the animation experience that only Mononokai can provide!

Kenjiro Tsuda as Hokuto Mizorogi

I am very happy to be able to participate in a work that is filled with the best of Japanese animation.
The worldview, characters, story, artwork, etc. are all unique and wonderful.
It was a pleasure to play the mysterious character Hokuto Mizorogi in this production.
Please come to the theater and enter the world of Mononokai.
