This work is a film adaptation of a manga that has been serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha) since 2017, with a total of 5.5 million copies of the book in print. It depicts car racing battles on real public roads in a near-future setting of "Initial D," which was also serialized in "Young Magazine" from 1995 to 2013 and depicted the "legend of the fastest car on public roads.

The year is 202X AD, in the future from "Initial D". Japan, where self-driving cars have become widespread. In such an era, a public road car race is being held. The name of the race, which is popular all over the world, is "MFG. The fastest cars such as Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini were competing one after another. Meanwhile, Kanata Rivington, a driver who had graduated from a racing school in England, was returning to Japan to fulfill a certain goal.

The driver who participates in the public road race "MFG" is a skilled driver called "Kami 15"!
