The new project was announced by TRIGGER last year in Los Angeles, USA in 2023. It was decided to produce it as a new animation. After a year has passed, the title logo and teaser visual have been unveiled.

The official title of the new animation is "New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT".
The staff information of the new work was also announced.

The teaser visual shows the two panties and stockings and their friends, briefs, garter belts, and zippers, as well as the antagonists Ni-Socks, Scanty, and Zipper, all gathered together.

The animation will be produced by TRIGGER, which has worked on "Kill la Kill," the movie "Promea," and "Cyberpunk: Edge Runners," and will be directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, as in the previous work. In addition, Atsushi Nishikori will continue to design the original characters, as in the previous film.

Hiromi Wakabayashi will be in charge of the story, as in the previous film, and character design will be handled by Shigeto Koyama, character designer for the "Promea" movie, Sushio, character designer for the "Kill la Kill" movie, and Katsu Sakamoto, character designer for the "Gridman Universe" movie and the "SSSS. GRIDMAN" series, and Masaru Sakamoto, character designer for the "Gridman Universe" movie series and "SSSS.

In addition, TRIGGER's frontline creator, Yoh Yoshinari, will be participating as a special specialist.

Following the teaser visual and the first main staff information, the broadcasting and distribution year of "New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT" was announced during the KADOKAWA Industry Panel held at Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles, USA!
It has been decided that it will start as a TV animation in 2025.
