An anime adaptation of the unique Santa Claus hero action "SANDA" by Tomoe Itagaki of "BEASTARS" has been decided.

SANDA" is the latest work by Tomoe Itagaki of "BEASTARS" fame, who has won numerous awards, including the Grand Prize of the "Manga Grand Prize 2018" and four other major manga awards. It is a unique Santa Claus hero action story set in the near future in Japan, where children are overprotected in an era of super low birthrate.

In today's issue of "Weekly Shonen Champion" No. 32 (Akita Shoten), it was announced that the work, which reached its final episode amid great popularity, will be adapted into an anime.

Animation production is by "Don't Mess with Visual Image Lab! and "Dandadan," and has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Film for "The King of Dogs," and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Film at the Shanghai International Film Festival for "The Color of My Heart.

Along with the announcement of the animation, a teaser visual was also released.
The shadow extending from the muscular, muscular old man in the red hood, who appears to be Santa Claus, takes the form of a boy.... The image stirs the viewer's imagination about the relationship between the two men.
