GSK Operators Best Suited for Object-based Rules

The GSK Operators added to the game this time give the impression that they will be rampant in object-based modes such as Domination and Occupy, where players fight over specific targets. The Ultras, the operators' trump cards, have Flash Shield, Shock Wire and ADS as unique abilities, and Hard Hit as a passive that is always in effect during a match.

Ultra's Flash Shield can be held forward to block attacks from the enemy and also emits a powerful flash of light that can blind the enemy in front of it. This can blank out the opponent's screen for several seconds, giving the player an overwhelming advantage in close quarters combat. In addition, the M93R handgun is automatically equipped, making it possible to deal with enemies at a certain distance.

Flash Shield in use

The Shock Wire ability places energized barbed wire on the spot and inflicts damage to enemies who step on it. Up to three barbed wires can be placed, with the fourth and later wires disappearing in order of oldest to newest. It is not only a trap, but also has the function of a wall in that it can limit the route an opponent can take.

Another ability, ADS, is deployed when thrown on a wall or floor. It automatically intercepts grenades and other projectiles thrown around it. This is perfect for object-based modes, as it is important to deal with enemy projectiles in order to protect targets such as positions and flags.

The passive Hard Hit reduces headshot damage from head shots. This passive is a very useful, if unspectacular, tool for preventing headshot damage in the middle of a firefight.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, GSK operators are suited for object-based modes. With his flash shield in place, he can defend against attacks from the front almost completely, making it easy for him to secure a position while taking on multiple enemies on his own. The Shockwire and ADS abilities are not as effective in fast-moving "Team Deathmatch," but in object-based modes, where players tend to cluster in specific areas, they can prevent enemies from entering the area and aggressively deal with grenades thrown into the area. If you play Domination or Occupy, you will want to have one on your team.

Capture the Flag, a battle over a single flag

In the new Capture the Flag mode, attackers and defenders fight over a flag. The goal of the attackers is to take the flag of the defender and return to their own territory, while the defenders try to prevent them from doing so.

The interesting aspect of this mode is that each team's position changes dramatically depending on the status of the flag. As long as the flag is on the defender's side, the defender deploys in its own position, while the attacker attacks the opponent's position. This is a common process in object-based modes where players fight for position, but when the attacker takes the flag, the positions are switched. The defender attacks to take back the attacker's flag, and the attacker defends his comrades from the defenders' pursuit as they return after taking the flag.

The attacker's and defender's positions change in an instant depending on the situation, allowing the players to enjoy a fast and furious game. The ability to smoothly switch between offense and defense is important, and compared to other modes such as Domination and Occupy, I felt that coordination is the key to success, even within teams.

Clubhouse, which is mainly indoors but has a good view

In Season 1, three new maps will be added in phases: "Clubhouse," "Rockefeller," and "Daytona.

The Clubhouse is the main indoor map. The clubhouse is mainly an indoor map with various rooms and facilities such as a garage, a bar, and a warehouse. Although the structure of the map is quite dense, the walls separating the rooms have been broken down, and the second floor can be accessed via a collapsed area, making the map easier to navigate than it appears.

There are many obstacles such as motorcycles, cars, bar tables and counters in the garage, and the clubhouse itself is small to begin with, so I had the impression that there were many sudden encounters during the game. It may be advantageous to use submachine guns, shotguns, and other weapons that can inflict instantaneous and heavy damage.

In this article, I wrote about one of the new operators, modes, and additional maps in Season 1, which started with "X Defiant. Particularly impressive is the GSK operator, which I found to be an excellent performer capable of leading his allies to victory in object-based modes by defending with shields and barbed wire. I highly recommend using it when playing Season 1.
