Evangelion Brass Band Version Concerts to be held in Kawasaki and Osaka in September 2024! Yoko Takahashi will join as a guest singer!

The "Evangelion" Wind Symphony, a brass band version of the "Evangelion" series that has attracted many fans since its TV broadcast in 1995, will be held in Kawasaki and Osaka in September 2024, following last year's concert.

The "Evangelion" Wind Symphony will premiere in Tokyo in September 2018. It will be held in 2019, 2022, and 2023, and will be held for the fifth time in 2024. Last year's performances were held at Tokyo International Forum Hall A and Hyogo Performing Arts Center, both of which were sold out.
This year's performance, as last year, will be conducted and arranged by Masamichi Amano, with special guests Yoko Takahashi (singer) and Eric Miyashiro (trumpet). Performers will be Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra (Kawasaki performance) and Osaka Shion Wind Orchestra (Osaka performance).

Conductor, Arranger: Masamichi Amano

A composer and conductor who writes without moderation from video music, contemporary music, songs, Jazz, Enka to brass band music. He has conducted orchestral arrangements of works by his friend Shiro Sagisu (London Studio Orchestra, Warsaw Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, etc.) for Evangelion, Berserk, Shin Evangelion, Shin Godzilla, Shin Ultraman, and Shin Godzilla vs. He also conducted and arranged orchestral works for Sympathy 2013, 2015, and 2021 organized by SEGA and New Sounds in Brass 2015-, succeeding the late Mr. Naohiro Iwai.
He was the general music director, composer, arranger, and conductor for the 62nd Akita Wakasugi National Athletic Meet, the 59th National Tree Planting Festival, and the 29th National Cultural Festival.
 He has received the 23rd (Toy) and 24th (Battle Royale) Japan Academy Prize for Excellence and the 10th Japan Wind Music Society Academy Prize for Composition and Arrangement.
He has also provided works for and performed with Stevie Wonder, Ofra Haza, Eikichi Yazawa, YOSHIKI, Akira Fuse, Isao Tomita, and others. He is currently a specially-appointed professor at Tokyo College of Music and a special lecturer at Shobi Music College.

Guest Singer: Yoko Takahashi

In 1991, she made her major debut as a solo singer with "P.S. I miss you," winning the Newcomer of the Year Award at the Record Awards and the Newcomer of the Year Award at the Cable Radio Awards. Before her major debut, she had been active as a back chorus and studio musician at concerts of Toshinobu Kubota and Yumi Matsutoya since 1987.
His representative works are "Gutai na Tenshi no Thesis," the theme song for "Neon Genesis Evangelion" in 1995, and "Soul no Rufuran," the theme song for "Neon Genesis Evangelion the Movie: Sito Shinsei," which was released in 1997 and continues to sell well to this day. Total cumulative sales total approximately 1.75 million copies, with 7 million DL distributed/120 million views streamed.
To date, the company has released 30 single CDs, 12 albums, and 8 best-of albums. She is a talented singer who also energetically performs live overseas.
On December 19, 2022, she released "Teardrops of hope" as a digital single, a song featured in the pachinko game "P Godzilla vs. Evangelion: G Cell Awakening. In addition, on Sunday, May 28, 2023, they will hold their first solo concert themed on the "Evangelion" series at Zepp Shinjuku (TOKYO).

Guest Trumpet: Eric Miyashiro

Born and raised in Hawaii, Eric Miyashiro was blessed with the musical environment of an American professional trumpeter father and Japanese dancer/actress mother.He started playing an instrument in elementary school and began performing professionally in junior high school.
In addition to jazz, he played in many orchestras in junior high and high school, andperformed inmany concertos. In his senior year of high school, he was selected to represent Hawaii in the National High School All-Star Band, and performed for the first time with his idol Maynard Ferguson at Carnegie Hall in New York City. After graduating from high school, he was invited to the Berkeley School of Music in Boston on a scholarship (Maynard Ferguson Scholarship), and while still in school, he worked in a studio in Boston with his teachers and others. At the age of 22, he was invited to play lead trumpet in the big bands of Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, and others, and toured the world for seven years. After working as a lead trumpeter for many artists, he came to Japan in 1989 and immediately began working in studio recording, television, and supporting artists on tour with his ability to read music and all-around musicality. He has been active as a brass band, orchestra, school teacher, clinician, composer, arranger, and producer, and has appeared on numerous TV programs such as "Ongaku no Namae no Ongakukai" (Concert with No Title). In 2013, he started his career as a leader and musical director of "Blue Note Tokyo All Star Jazz Orchestra".

Wind Band: Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra

The Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra was founded in May 1960 as "Kosei Wind Band", renamed "Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra" in 1973, and became a world-class professional wind orchestra in April 2022 as "General Incorporated Association Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra".
From April 2024, Takeshi Ooi will become the 6th Permanent Conductor and Aio Nakahashi will become the Musician. The Wind Orchestra has Frederick Fennell as its laureate conductor, Thomas Sanderling as its special guest conductor, and Norichika Iimori as its principal guest conductor.
The ensemble has been performing a wide repertoire of wind ensembles, including original wind band works, classical arrangements, pops, and popular music, creating a high level of musical artistry and creating wind ensembles that can be enjoyed by many people, and has been well received at concerts throughout Japan. He has also devoted himself to the improvement, dissemination, and development of brass band culture through numerous recordings and media.

The symphonic wind orchestra, nicknamed "Shion" since its birth in 1923, changed its name from "Osaka Municipal Band" to "Osaka Shion Wind Orchestra" in March 2015. The orchestra performs a wide range of concerts from classical to popular music that can be enjoyed by everyone, and is dedicated to the improvement and development of music culture through a wide range of activities such as concerts in various cities, wind band workshops, and CD recordings. The group has received the Osaka Cultural Festival Award three times, the Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association Award, the Japan Wind Band Academy Award in the performance category, the Osaka Art Award, and the Naniwa Grand Prize. Currently, Akira Miyagawa is appointed as Music Director and Kazuyoshi Akiyama as Artistic Advisor.
