A beta version of the PS5 console update is available today! Personalized 3D Audio Profile Creation for a More Immersive Gaming Experience

On July 25, 2024, a beta version of the PS5 system software update became available.

The beta version to be distributed this time will allow users to create personalized 3D audio profiles for headphones and earphones, as well as manage access to Remote Play on a per-user basis.
The beta version is only available to participants in certain countries and regions, including Japan, and the official release version will be available to users worldwide at a later date.

Personalized audio profiles (for headphones and earphones)/All PS5 models are supported

The beta version will include a feature that allows users to create 3D audio profiles tailored to each individual user to create the optimal sound environment for each user.
By answering a number of questions about how they hear sound while using headphones or earphones such as the PULSE Elite wireless headset or PULSE Explore wireless earphones, users will be able to create an optimal audio profile.
For example, the user can now more clearly perceive the location of characters and objects in the game world and enjoy a more immersive experience than ever before.

■Enabling Remote Play for each user/all PS5 models support it

A new feature will be added that will allow each user to set whether or not to enable Remote Play connections for PS5 and select which users can connect to each PS5 via Remote Play. For example, if family and friends come to visit a home and sign in to the homeowner's PS5 with their PlayStation Network account, they will be able to choose which users can continue to access their PS5 via Remote Play after the guests leave. The idea is that you will be able to choose which user can continue to access their PS5 via Remote Play after their guests leave.

■ Adaptive charging function for controllers /only compatible with thelatest PS5 model andCFI-2000 model group - slim

Adaptive charging of DualSense wireless controllers, DualSense Edge wireless controllers, PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, and Access controllers is now available when the main unit is in rest mode. Adaptive charging is a feature that supports power saving by adjusting the power supply time during rest mode according to the remaining battery level of the controller.
After the PS5 is placed in rest mode, power supply to the USB port will stop after a certain amount of time passes without a controller being connected.

The company plans to release the new feature to the worldwide community within the next few months. Those who were not able to participate in the beta this time should look forward to the official release.
