However, he could not give up his passion for astronomy, which he had been devoting himself to for a long time.
One day, he meets a mysterious scholar named Hubert. Hubert had been tortured and imprisoned for violating a taboo based on heretical thought. What he was researching was a shocking "hypothesis" about the universe.

What fate awaits Rafaou, who will risk his life to prove the geocentric theory?
Teaser video released!

The teaser video released this time begins with a monologue by the child prodigy Rafau, "This world is full of idiots," and ends with his line, "Now I'm going to move the earth.
In an age when the "natural motion theory," which holds that the earth is the center of the universe and the planets move around it, was considered the truth of the world, and believing or researching anything that would overturn this theory was a serious offense, the mysterious scholar Hubert's words "I'm going to move the earth now" are a reminder of the possibility of the "geocentric theory. Rafaou learned of the possibility of the "geocentric theory" through the words of the enigmatic scholar Hubert. He was a self-proclaimed genius, but his intense intellectual curiosity had begun to take hold. What in the world do I have to offer to know everything about the world? and he puts his own "knowledge", "blood", and even his life on the line to prove the theory of "geocentricity".

Q1: How did you feel when you heard about the animation?
I was genuinely very happy.
It was one of my dreams to make an animated film, but when I heard about the production company, staff, cast, broadcasting station, music, etc., everything was so favorable that I doubted, "Really? It still feels like a dream, but it doesn't feel real.

Also, Madhouse was located near a friend's house that I used to go to every week when I was a student, so whenever I hear about the anime, it reminds me of my student days, and I am deeply moved by it.

Q2: What are your expectations for anime?
For better or worse, manga is very much an individual work, and you can make a lot of things "your own." For this reason, I expect to feel a sense of not belonging to myself when it is transferred to other media.
I am very happy to be able to see it as a detached, other person's business.

Q3: Do you have any message for your fans?
It has been two years since the completion of the original work, but the production team has given a fresh "rebirth" to the anime version of "Chi. I, as a viewer like you, am very much looking forward to watching the anime version of "Chi.
I am sure it will be a lot of fun!

Rafau

He is a boy genius who skipped a grade in college at the age of 12. He has always been able to get around in the world by making rational decisions, but he is fascinated by the beauty of the geocentric theory and begins to study it.

Maaya Sakamoto (as Rafau) comments

Q1, How did you feel when you read the original story and script?
I have always been a big fan of the original work and was greatly impressed by it. When I was invited to audition for the role of Rafau, I was happy and excited! I was shocked. I was nervous because I knew it was a difficult role.

Q2: About your role as Rafaou
Rafaou is a character with an important role to play as the starting point of this epic story.
I tried to make him relatable in the beginning so that the audience could experience the conflicts and desires that welled up inside him and share his thirst for knowledge.

Q3: Do you have any message for your fans?
It may come as a surprise to some that a woman will play the role of Rafaou. But since I auditioned and was chosen, I had to do my job in a way that people would think I was Rafaou, and as a fan of the original work, I had a sense of mission. I believe that you will enjoy the role without any sense of discomfort.

Novak

Inquisitor. He has no particular ideology, but he does whatever cruel things he can to protect the peace of the world, including his daughter, and he does it as part of his job.

Kenjiro Tsuda (Novak) comments

Q1, How did you feel when you read the original story and script?
The intense drama of the main characters who risk their lives to challenge the geocentric theory and the people on the regime side who suppress it. I was very moved. To look up at the night sky seems like a sacred act. And the depth of the title.

Q2: About Novak, the character you played.
He is a fascinating villain. He is a cold-hearted enforcer of justice in the world of this story, and a family man with a child to take care of. He is a strong-willed man who carries out his duties, but also has a vulnerability that is at the mercy of fundamental questions and changes in the world's norms, which makes him a joy to play.

Q3: Do you have any words for your fans?
It is an entertainment filled with various elements, such as the strength to carry out what you believe in at the risk of your life, intense human drama, and a theme that is not easy to grasp. Please watch it.

Hubert

An acquaintance of Rafa's father-in-law Potocki, a heretic imprisoned for "forbidden research.

Comment by Tadashi Hayami (Hubert)

Q1, How did you feel when you read the original story and script?
This is a world where faith has authority and the convenience of rulers takes precedence over truth.
This is a common occurrence not only in stories, but also in human gatherings. In the face of resignation, we live or...
I read the story with a sense of frustration and sadness that made me grit my teeth.

Q2: About Hubert, who played the role of Hubert
He has a sharp mind and a gushing passion. He is fascinated by the "geocentric theory," not succumbing to oppression, but being affected by the fever of seeking the truth and solution, even if he succumbs to reason. I think he is a sad, beautiful, and sinful researcher.

Q3: Do you have anything to say to your fans?
This is not a work of entertainment to be enjoyed.
Please share the pain in your heart and see "Chi" with your wings full of imagination.
