The number of parts is quite large for a car model, as the complex design is well reproduced. Rubber tires, plated parts, decals to reproduce instruments are included, as well as the antenna parts (selectable) that were provided to send the lightning current from the clock tower to the dimensional transfer device at the climax of the movie part 1. The radio and video camera used in the experiment on October 26, 1985 in the movie are also included as extra parts!

It's a great way for fans to recreate scenes from the play!

The glass parts as well as the flame effect parts that are generated during the time slip are also included as clear parts!

There are many small parts and the process is complicated. Read the assembly instructions carefully before starting production to confirm the order in which to assemble the parts.

25 colors of paint are required for faithful coloring. If it is difficult to prepare all the colors, you can make your own approximate colors by mixing paints. (e.g., mix blue and white to make your own sky blue)

And, special detail-up parts (metal parts, etched parts, and metal sticker sets), sold separately, are also now available! Although not required, these items are recommended if you want to create a more realistic finish.

Before making this kit

This kit is not intended for beginners and requires various things such as adhesives, paints, other shaping tools, and knowledge of model crafting. If this is your first time to try car modeling, we recommend that you start with an affordable kit such as Raku-Pla (Snap Kit), also available from Aoshima, to get a feel for the product before trying it out!

Let's start production!

First, I sprayed all parts with Kreos water-based black surfacer. You can spray it on after assembly, but spraying it on at the beginning will save a little time. The style of car modeling varies from modeler to modeler, so this is just for reference!

For cutting out parts, use God Hand's Blade One nippers, which are strong and sharp.

For gate processing, deburring and shaping work, we recommend God Hand's sponge files. Various thicknesses are available on the market, so use according to your preference!

Masking the body part. After this, the body color silver was carefully sprayed with an airbrush to avoid unevenness. Of course, if you don't have an airbrush, you can use a can sprayer!

Metal parts and etched parts need to be coated with metal primer before painting. Be careful not to accidentally forget to apply it and have the paint peel off after painting!

Except for the silver body parts, I used mainly water-based Farejo Color, which is perfect for brush painting, to paint the details in detail. Incidentally, parts and cords that are too detailed and have no painting instructions are painted with the color of your choice.

Decals were firmly adhered using Kreos Mark Setter and Mark Softener.

Painting details, as well as applying decals and smudging, is difficult to do after all the parts are assembled, so I recommend working on each block separately, such as the body, interior, and mechanical parts.

After painting and applying decals, I sprayed Kreos water-based Premium Clear (semi-glossy) with an airbrush to protect the paint film and prevent smudging. The photo shows the smearing with black enamel paint after drying. Now, all that is left to do is to combine the parts: ......

Completed!

The sharp form is cool! It takes a long time to make, but the sense of accomplishment upon completion is worth it.

The rear part of the body is the most complex and impressive part. The power supply unit, exhaust port, various cords and pipes, and the messiness of the body is unforgettable!

Antenna parts attached. Although the antenna is selectable between the normal state and the "normal" state, it can be removed using adhesive instead of gluing it on. This way, you can enjoy both sides, which we recommend!

The gull wing type door, the biggest attraction of the time machine, can be fixed in the open state!

The dimensional transfer device behind the seat and other mechanical parts are also included as separate parts, which is a nice touch.

The time circuit and gauges are reproduced with decals. If you want to make it even more realistic, you can add your own parts based on the driving scenes in the film!

This set of three accessories (radio, video camera, and alarm clock) will make any fan grin. If you are interested, check out the full-length version!

The flame effect parts were sprayed in clear orange and clear yellow with an airbrush to create a gradation.

Combined with the antenna parts, you can recreate the famous scene in the play! It will be fun to make a diorama with roads and power lines as well. ......

So, what do you think? It's so exciting to have a faithful reproduction of a machine that appeared in a movie, and to be able to keep it close at hand! Well, I'll see you again... ♪
