TV anime "Fruits Basket" to begin airing in April 2019! Rie Kugimiya, Megumi Ban, and Shin Furukawa will be added to the cast!

The TV anime "Fruits Basket," which has been attracting a great deal of attention since its full-length anime adaptation by a new staff and cast, has been announced for broadcast, and a second teaser visual and additional new cast members have been announced.

Fruits Basket" (original story by Natsuki Takaya) is a very popular girls' manga serialized in "Hana to Yume" (Hakusensha) from 1998 to 2006. The manga has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, and was adapted into an animated TV series on TV Tokyo in 2001, with a total of 26 episodes, followed by a stage adaptation in 2009. In September 2015, a spin-off manga, "Fruits Basket Another," began serialization on the web, with a total of 340,000 copies of the manga in print (two volumes already published).

The story is about a high school girl, Honda Toru. She has been living alone in a tent since the death of her mother, the only family she had left, but the place where she pitched her tent was on the grounds of the Kusama family, which has a long history!　Toru, who was bought by Shigure Kusama for his housekeeping skills, ends up living with Yuki Kusama, the prince of the school, and Ri Kusama, who sees Yuki as an enemy. But what Toru doesn't know yet is that the "Kusama Family" has been in existence for hundreds of years. However, Toru does not yet know that the Kusama family has been bound by an abominable curse for hundreds of years. ......

Rie Kugimiya will play the role of Kusama Rakura, Megumi Ban will play the role of Kusama Momiji, and Shin Furukawa will play the role of Kusama Shusuharu.
