Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Model #99: Akremlin Military V-Grade Scrambler Zweaver

We have received information that the long-awaited new Omoroids "Acremlin Army V-Grade Scrambler Zweaver" is scheduled to be released on October 26, 2014!

We would like to introduce the gimmick of Zyber, using a prototype called Test Shot, which was pre-sold at the recently held Wonder Festival 2024 [Summer].

This is a package illustration. Since this is a test shot, it is not the official package, but the design will look like this. The atmosphere of the design follows the design of the kit at that time.

We think that the runner arrangement will be almost the same as the production version even in the test shots, so let us introduce it well.

Again, the kit is composed of three colors of plastic, including clear parts.

And here is the unassembled vertical mode.

It took less than an hour to assemble. I can feel LEAPRO's desire to make it easy for anyone to pick up and enjoy making plastic models.

What do you think of this chubby Omoroid-like form? It took a lot of trial and error to arrive at this shape.

The head of the beast-mode "Pteranodon" is folded up on its back.

Clear parts are used for the center of the face and the camera portion of the forehead. Behind the clear parts for the eyes, there is a hollowed out "V" as it is a "V-Grade Scrambler".

When assembled, there is a space behind it where something that could be a light source could be built in.

The round holes in the wings are 3mm in diameter, allowing for customization by attaching parts from Kotobukiya's "M.S.G." series and other parts.

The wrist claw is also a nice, moderately sharp point.

The legs have ball joint connections at the hip joints and ankles. Although the legs are short, various nuances can be added.

The wings on the back have an exquisite surface structure.

The base of the shoulders are also ball-jointed.

They roll and rotate under the shoulders. The elbows can be bent in this shape!

The legs can be opened quite a bit in the lateral direction.

I thought to look at the front and back leg openings, but it looks as if she is kicking a ball up.

There is also a 3mm diameter hole on the side of the thigh where the round molded part is removed, so this can be used for customization as well. Despite the small size of the body, it is nice to see that these customization points have been prepared in advance.

Zieber thrusting a claw at an enemy!

Optional parts are included for the clear eyes. Three different cameras have been sculpted.

However, if you leave them as they are, they will get caught when transforming. If you want to use this camera to transform the figure, you will need to be a little creative.

Let's go on to the explanation of the transformation!

Transforming into beast mode!

Push the head down and raise the pteranodon head on the back.

Flip the ankles back and forth.

Turn the forearm pins to face forward. ......

Spread the wings out to the sides.

Tilt the upper body down and lift the arms to complete the transformation.

It is indeed Kunio Okawara's design that the silhouette changes so drastically in spite of the simple transformation procedure.

Clear parts are also used for the camera parts in this form.

You can see that the silhouette from behind has also changed quite a bit.

The upper body is tilted forward so far, but it can stand on its own without falling forward!

The beak has a movable lower jaw. The beak has a movable lower jaw, and there is a grooved plate in the mouth. The nostrils are also sculpted in a cute shape.

Comparison with the old kit!

Finally, I would like to compare this kit with the old kit released in the 1980s. The number of colors and the finer partitioning of the parts give a very different impression even when assembled unassembled.

The old kit looks a little stouter.

The impression is better when clear parts are attached.

The color of the molding is different, but the back view looks similar! That's because they are both zweibers, right?

By the way, there is a nice point when transforming from beast mode to vertical mode. After transforming the limbs and wings, the Pteranodon's head is finally placed on its back. ...

When the head is attached to the back from this point, the head in vertical mode protrudes upward! This is a really nice touch!

This gimmick was also used in the kits of the time, although the structure is slightly different, and it shows how highly complete the Omoroids series was at that time.

Comparison of vertical mode. The old kit also had rotatable ankles, allowing for more expressive poses.

However, the new kit has been further enhanced with ball joints in various parts, which gives it a more powerful range of motion. The ability to bend the elbows is a major evolution.

The heel claw of the old kit has a large hole on the inside for the convenience of parts division, but in the new kit, the claw itself is a separate part, so this problem has been solved. The new kit has the claw itself as a separate part, so this problem has been solved. The kit is filled with the designer's effort and love.

The markings on the kit were water-transfer decals for the test shots, but the final version will use foil stickers as before, so those who are not good at using decals need not worry.

As for the Zyber, we have also heard that they are planning to release a variation of the Zyber, so we can look forward to its future development as well as that of the Glink, which is scheduled to go on sale in the future!

The product is scheduled to be released on October 26, 2024, so we are looking forward to that day!
