Interview】JUNNA's 3rd single "Konoyubitomare" is another amazing song with a sense of urgency that only JUNNA can deliver!

In October 2018, JUNNA released their first album "Who said 17-year-olds are beautiful? JUNNA attracted many fans with her powerful vocals and unpretentious MC, which is typical of an 18-year-old.
On January 23, 2019, JUNNA will release its third single "Konoyubitomare", the opening theme for the TV anime "Kaket Kegurui-XXX", with music composed and arranged by Yusuke Shirato, who wrote the first single "Here", and lyrics by Fumi Onoe, who wrote the lead song "Honto no Hanaibito" from the first album. The song has a tingling tension that matches the world of the anime, and once again shows off JUNNA's charm to the fullest!

The day after the Tokyo show, my body was in a state of shock (laughs)!

─ ─ I saw your 3rd live tour "JUNNA ROCK YOU TOUR 2018-2019 ~The Scream of an 18-Year-Old~" on January 6 in Tokyo, and it was a great show.

JUNNA Thank you very much. I was glad that Shinkiba Studio Coast was an easy-to-see live house for the audience.

─ I heard that the members of Valkyrie were also there to see the show.

JUNNA Yes, Nao Higashiyama and Kiyono Yasuno came on January 6.

─ ─ What did you talk about afterwards?

JUNNA Higashiyama-san said, "You have grown up" (laughs). She said, "Now I can watch with peace of mind. Yasuno-san said, "I fell in love with it" (laugh). I could see him from the stage. During "Catch Me" he was waving his hands so much, and I was thinking, "Mr. Yasuno, you are so excited!

───Did you decide the setlist?

JUNNA We consulted with the staff based on the plan they made for us. Vai! Ya! Vai!" was initially chosen as the first song, but I really didn't like it (laughs). Of course, it wasn't that I didn't like the song, but it was the same as the first live tour. So "I can't do it" became the first song. The rest didn't change much from the first proposal. They incorporated what I wanted to do in small details, such as the position of the MC and the fact that I wanted to sing "Be Your Idol" right after the costume change.

─ ─ "Be Your Idol" was a retro costume and a walking stick that matched the jazzy and stylish tune of the song.

JUNNA It was a new type of song for me, so I thought it would be nice if I could charm the audience with my costume as well. I wanted to not only show my own style but also have everyone enjoy it, so I thought of various ideas for the first song of the encore.

─ ─ The second day of the Tokyo performance was "Onyanoko gilrl" by Valkyrie. It was a cute song with Makina as the main character, so it was unexpected. The audience sang along with the chorus.

JUNNA I was happy. Onyanoko" was one of the candidates for Valkyrie songs to be sung live, and I thought "I can sing it. At first, I thought I would sing "Onyanoko" as a special present only for the Sendai concert on Christmas Eve. But the producer said, "Why don't you do it in Tokyo too? People will be surprised.

I think it was a good decision, judging from the reaction of the audience. Basically, you speak to the audience as if you were a friend.

JUNNA Almost all of the audience members are older than me (laughs). (laugh) But they are warmly looking at me, so I think it's OK and I'm spoiled.

─ ─ I think it must have been tough for you to attend the 2-day event in Tokyo. You wrote on Twitter that you were down the next day.

JUNNA I jumped too much during "Ikebo" (Valkyrie's "No Borderline") and my body was in bad shape (laughs).

─ ─ This time was the largest number of songs in the live performance so far, wasn't it?

JUNNA I thought this number of songs is good for live performances. I think we will have more songs in the future, but I thought it would be better to pack JUNNA's existence into the volume of this show and let everyone enjoy it. I also felt that the length of the live performance was long enough to convey what I wanted to say.

─ How was it to sing the new song "Konoyubitomare" in front of your fans before the CD release?

JUNNA I thought it would be difficult for the band to perform.
