Make your own original shirt with 151 different Pokémon patterned fabrics! Pokemon Shirt" Media Preview Report

Original Stitch, an online custom shirt brand developed by Original Inc. that sells online custom shirts, announced that it will start selling "Pokémon shirts" made of original print fabric in collaboration with Pokémon Co. Ltd. in collaboration with Pokemon Co.

Pokemon Shirt" is a service that allows customers to order their own custom shirts by freely combining all 151 types of original print fabrics of Pokemon that appear in "Pokemon Red and Green". The service allows customers to customize the fabric used for the collar, collar lining, sleeves, sleeve lining, front, body, and pockets in a total of seven locations.

This article reports on the "Pokémon shirt Media Preview," a presentation for the media held today, January 25 (Friday). Also, don't miss the three-day limited pre-sale event from tomorrow, January 26 (Sat.) to 28 (Mon.), prior to the official sales at the end of February!

At the "Pokémon Shirt Media Preview," Mr. Manabu Fujimoto, Director and COO of Original Inc. Mr. Fujimoto touched on the company's online shirt brand "Original Stitch," saying, "When you select various fabrics, the images are reflected in real time. This allows customers to check what kind of products will actually be delivered to them, which is exciting, and overcomes the problem of not knowing what kind of products will be delivered, which is an issue with EC (online shopping).

He continued by mentioning that all products are sewn in Japan. "I believe that Japan is a world-class industry in terms of sewing technology that provides high quality and efficiency for shirts with different measurements for each piece. We would like to use online solutions to take orders from people all over the world and expand our world view that shirts made in Japan are delivered to the world," he said.

Next, Takahito Utsunomiya, COO and representative director of Pokémon Inc. took the stage wearing a shirt boldly decorated with a Koiking. Utsunomiya said, "Pokémon Inc. is a company that exists only for Pokémon. It has been 22 full years since Pokémon was first released, and those who were in their teens at the time are now 32 years old. There are people all over the world who are now in their thirties. When I heard about the "Pokémon shirt" from Original Stitch, I thought it would be very useful to be able to "choose your favorite Pokémon and wear it. I didn't expect to have to create and provide all 151 designs (laughs), but I decided that if I was going to do it, I was going to go that far," he said, explaining the background of the collaboration with Original Stitch.

Mr. Utsunomiya then mentioned the Koi-King shirt he is wearing, saying, "Each Pokémon has its own story, so I think it makes sense for me to wear it. The Koi-King I am wearing is my favorite one, but it is the weakest Pokémon. There is even a song that says, "It's so weak, so helpless, so famous, so weak." I feel that although it is weak, it is humorous and represents the gentle worldview that Pokémon have. I feel that it represents the gentle world of Pokémon. However, as it advances in level, it becomes a very strong Pokémon called Gyarados. I would like to wear a Gyarados someday when I grow up, but... the leader of this project, who is in his 20s, is suddenly wearing a Gyarados... (audience laughed). (The audience laughed) Wow! He's way ahead of me! (audience laughed). I think it's great that this kind of communication is possible through clothing.

The "Pokémon shirt" is available in three types: a dress shirt, which is basically a tucked-in style; a casual shirt, which is basically a tucked-out style; and a relaxed shirt with an open collar and a tucked-out style. Then, by selecting the fabric for the collar, collar lining, sleeves, sleeve lining, placket, body, and pockets in a total of seven locations, customers can create their own original shirts.
Original Stitch" has only offered men's models, but "Pokémon Shirts" will also offer women's models.

You can freely customize which fabric is used for the collar, collar lining, sleeves, sleeve lining, front placket, body, and pockets, for a total of seven locations.

A staff member wearing a Pokémon shirt with an Ishitsubute pattern. He was very knowledgeable about Pokémon lore (of course...) and told us a lot about the motifs in the shirt design.

Pikachu and Eevee are very popular and can be easily worn on business occasions.

The DIGDA pattern shows DIGDA from the Alola region (slightly below the left and center of the photo) mixed in with the regular DIGDA!

▲The Yadoran pattern features the adorable Yadoran and Nassie with loose expressions. Next summer, this open-collared and short-sleeved shirt is the one for you!

Utsunomiya also wore a Koiking pattern. It has a great impact, so if you want to stand out, this is the shirt for you!

Pokemon designs on the pockets and sleeve backs of plain shirts are also available. The single-pointed design makes a nice accent, even if the pattern is a bit gaudy.

Pair looks of "Pokemon shirts" are also on display.

Pikachu and other Pikachus wearing mini "Pokemon shirts" were also on display! Unfortunately, they are not for sale.
