A loose review of "Bermuda Triangle - Colorful Pastorale! Episode 1: "Welcome to Parrelle"

It has been a little while since the anime "Bermuda Triangle - Colorful Pastorale" started.

Some of you may be wondering what the Bermuda Triangle is, but this is a spin-off anime based on the popular clan "Bermuda△ (Triangle)" that appears in the long-time favorite trading card game "Vanguard. Bermuda△ is a clan (group or team) that is very popular because all of the characters who appear as cards are beautiful mermaids and idols.

However, as far as the first episode is concerned, I feel that those who are discovering the world of "Bermuda△" from this anime do not need to be aware of this fact. I think it is correct to enjoy it as a fluffy and shimmering daily life anime in which mermaid girls living in a village in the countryside sea area make a big fuss over a little incident and their eyes light up when they receive sweets as a reward for their errands.

In the first episode, the existence of "mermaids" in this work and the world surrounding them were introduced in a fluffy way. It is a mysterious worldview that is both under the sea and not-so-under the sea. The description of people making tea and drying hijiki, a specialty of the village, even though it is at the bottom of the sea is symbolic. The mermaids basically swim to get around, so there are no stairs in the buildings, and when the sonatas make noise at the entrance of the café, they are scolded, "Don't just hang out at the entrance (of the store) and float! and they are scolded. I like the scene where Aldi is enjoying the aroma of new tea and expresses his feelings with his tail wagging slowly.

The girls of Parrel Village, Sonata, Fina, Serena, and Caro, who were going about their daily lives as usual, were sent by "seal mail" to the fifth main character, Kanon, who came from the city (seal mail is literally a postman who carries packages by seal).

Through the eyes of Kanon, who was born in the city and was shocked to learn that "there is nothing here, is there?", the village of Parrel is described as a peaceful and tranquil place, though there is nothing to see. There is no cell phone coverage, a cathode ray tube (?) television set that shows almost nothing, and a small, but peaceful village. TV shows almost nothing. Kanon also wondered what her favorite new hijiki sandwich tasted like, a scary thing to see.

At the same time that Kanon arrived, the Great Ocean Current, a natural phenomenon similar to a typhoon on the ground, started to occur. At the back of a row of coral trees that had been toppled by the ocean current, Sonata and five others found an abandoned movie theater and an old projector, the Kineorb.

The first episode was a very relaxing and calm story. I left it on about five times, somehow, and I was watching the underwater movements of the mermaids and listening to the girls' voices and the undersea sound effects instead of the background music. Personally, I enjoy it as an environmental anime like the "ARIA" series.

And then there's "Bandolier! As a fan of "Bandolier!", it is also important to note that the opening theme is "Wonderland Girl" by Pastel*Palettes, who also appear in the anime "BanG Dream! It is a meta-like image, as if the Pas Palettes in the world of the work are performing the theme song for an everyday anime as a job in the entertainment industry. I was also a bit smitten by the combination of Irina (CV: Yuka Ozaki), Aneshka (CV: Rimi Nishimoto), and Laura (CV: Sae Otsuka), who appeared as legendary idols at the beginning of the first episode.
