MIX" is a popular work by Mitsuru Adachi that was serialized in Gessan (Shogakukan Monthly Shōnen Sunday) and went into overprint as soon as it was serialized, even though it is a monthly manga magazine. ─ How did you feel when you were chosen to play the role of "Tachibana Touma"?

I was very happy! It's like a dream come true to be cast in a work by Mitsuru Adachi and as a pitcher for Meisei. Perhaps it was a blessing that I got to hear Yuji Mitsuya, who plays Tatsuya Uesugi, the main character in "Touch," speak live on a certain job last year!

─ About your role in the film

I felt that he is a modern boy who has a sense of satori, or comfort. From the outside, he is in a complicated family environment. Despite this, I think he is a cute guy with an aloof personality that is somewhat similar to Tatsuya Uesugi's, and I can't hate him.

─ ─ Do you have any thoughts on "MIX"? (Favorite scene or character, scene you look forward to playing, etc.)

Both "coming-of-age drama" and "baseball" are the charms of this film. I hope that I can bring out the boyish foolishness and somewhat off-the-beaten-path charm of the characters, while at the same time, I hope to bring out their unfathomable presence when they stand on the mound. At the same time, I would like to emphasize the realistic adolescence of Shoichiro, Otomi, and Haruka.

The work of Mitsuru Adachi is "Touch" in my mind. I was familiar with this work through reruns of the animated TV series, but now that I have read the original manga, starting with the first volume, I have a new appreciation for this wonderful work. The pictures and the story, of course, but also the unique "pauses" where no dialogue is written are very appealing to me. I love the atmosphere. Minami, you are the best!

Due to their parents' remarriage, they became twin brothers with the same birthday, although they are not related by blood. They are two brothers, "Runichiro Tachibana" and "Touma Tachibana," who belong to the baseball team of the Meisei Gakuen Junior High School.
Runichiro plays as a catcher and a batter. Nouma is a third baseman for "one reason or another," but he has a hidden talent for pitching that is beyond the average person. She is the biological sister of Runichiro and is not related to Nouma by blood. Tachibana Otomi, Runichiro's biological sister who is not related to Towa, also enters junior high school, and there is a lot of commotion around the two of them. Will they be able to go on to high school and step on the Koshien pitch...?
