Xenoblade 2" and "Xenoblade 2: Era, Land of Gold" on the Nintendo Switch are not only fun games, but also highly popular for the music composed by the splendid composer team.

It is also a rare work that sells high-quality high-resolution music at the same price as compressed music, and it is a regular top-ranked work on the music distribution site mora. Three of the composers involved in composing the "Xenoblade 2: Era of the Golden Country" original soundtrack, Yasunori Mitsuda, ACE CHiCO, and Aimi Kiyota, appeared at the event to share their rarely heard secrets about the production.

The talk session began with questions that had been solicited from applicants in advance.

In response to the question, "What are the differences between the music for "Era: The Land of Gold" and that for the main game? At the request of Tetsuya Takahashi, the game's general director, "Era of the Golden Country" does not use electric guitars or other digital sounds." In keeping with the "acoustic" theme, CHiCO says he was more conscious of the "jazziness" of the music.

When asked "In what kind of environment do you usually listen to music," Kiyota replied, "Not so high. Since she has children, she says that smart speakers and other devices that allow her to easily listen to children's songs are also useful.

CHiCO also uses several types of earphones, from inexpensive ones to professional ones, including 900 yen earphones, and several types of speakers, from inexpensive ones to professional ones, to check the sound. On the other hand, Mr. Mitsuda, who has set up a production environment at home, often listens to music in the same environment in which he composes and mixes.

When asked, "Are there any plans for a Xenoblade concert?" to which Mr. Mitsuda replied, "General Director Takahashi wants to hold a concert. CHiCO laughs, "There are so many songs that it would be possible to hold a concert for three days and two nights. However, since all of the songs are difficult to arrange and are not intended to be played live, especially the songs written by Kenji Hiramatsu, "We need about four guitarists," was the opinion of one of the participants.

When Mr. Mitsuda said, "An orchestra concert might be less difficult than a band concert," the audience applauded in anticipation.

In the second half of the event, the audience moved to the studio room to listen to the high-resolution soundtrack in the same environment where the recording of "Xenoblade 2 Original Soundtrack" was performed.

The first song played was "Risaria Primeval Forest" from "Xenoblade 2: Era of the Golden Country Original Soundtrack. Mr. Kiyota, who composed the music, said, "Since the theme of this project was 'acoustic,' I had the percussionists actually play all the percussion parts. Each note of the shaker has its own flavor," he said, as he listened to the music again on the high-resolution soundtrack.

The two members of ACE recorded the bass and drums simultaneously for "Four-Legged Ars/Gura". The improvised parts were recorded several times with different patterns, which is surprising.

For "King's City Aururium," Kiyota says, "I gave the direction that it should have a 'dead' feel. After the recording was finished, he said, "It had a nice withered feeling! After the recording was complete, he told the audience about a strange episode in which he gave the song a strange compliment, saying, "It was nice and withered!

Then came "A Moment of Eternity," the closing song of "Era, Land of Gold. Mr. Mitsuda said that he and vocalist Jen Bird "communicated quite a bit. The ending song for the film was recorded in Japan, but at Jen's request, "A Moment of Eternity" was recorded in London, where Jen lives.

Kenji Hiramatsu composed "Battle! /Era" is interspersed with several songs from the main story of "Xenoblade 2. Xenoblade II - Where It All Began -" by Mr. Mitsuda is a song with a noticeable high-resolution quality. He says he used heavy bass to express the main character's entry into the sea, and the three of us looked at each other and said, "You might not recognize this heavy bass on a video game console.

Mr. Kiyota says that he was ill during the recording of "Goola Territory/Forest" and that it left him with painful memories. He says it left him with painful memories. He says of the percussion in this piece, "It sounds different when you listen to it in high-resolution, even if it's a typed version! It's a learning experience," he laughs.

Drifting Soul" was composed by Tomori Kudo of ACE. Unfortunately, he was not able to perform at the event, but through CHiCO, he said, "Hitoshi Watanabe, who was in charge of the bass guitar, was very skilled. This song was originally planned to have a male vocalist. Since CHiCO is also active as a vocalist, ACE was very particular about the key setting. They repeatedly checked Jen's voice on sound and video to find the key that would best express Jen's personality, and they wanted to bring out the appeal of Jen's bass tone, so they made it so that the bass tone speaks to the audience when she starts singing.

The next song, "Thundering! Ultimate" also has a valuable demo soundtrack in 8-bit tone. The specifications changed just before the recording, and Tomori said that he arranged it to its current form.

The last song to be played was "One Last You," the ending song of the main game. Since the time of "Xenogears," the theme of the song has often been "sad, but there is hope," so there was an unspoken agreement with the general director Takahashi," said Mr. Mitsuda. As for the key of the vocals, Mitsuda says, "It was important for me to be able to make a sound that said, 'Here it comes! The key of the vocals was important to make sure that "the first note of a song has a 'here it comes' sound.

After this voluminous high-resolution appreciation corner, the three concluded the session with a few words.

Mr. Kiyota, who said it had been a while since he had listened to the music, said, "I want to play the game one more time. CHiCO said, "I could clearly hear the difference between the hall and the studio" through the high-resolution recording. Mr. Mitsuda concluded the event by saying, "Hi-res audio produced at Procyon Studios is no more expensive than compressed audio, so please listen to it with as good a sound as possible.

Through the high-resolution audio in the studio and the precious talk by the splendid composers, the audience was reminded of the passion that goes into the music that colors the "Xenoblade 2" series. The original soundtrack of the "Xenoblade 2" series is a "work" worth listening to, not only for those who have played the game, but also for those who have not played the game. It is a work of art for those who have not played the game, as well as for those who have not played the game.
