2019 Spring Anime "YU-NO: The Girl Who Sings Love at the End of the World" Main Visual Revealed! OP by Asaki Hana and ED by Suzuki Konomi!

The main visual for the TV anime "YU-NO," which will begin airing in April 2019, has been revealed, along with information on the opening/ending theme.

YU-NO" is one of the representative works of the late Hiroyuki Kanno, a game designer and scenario writer who created many hit titles such as the "Mysterito" series, and is an adventure game in which players travel through parallel worlds that are said to exist in infinite numbers.

Since the original PC game (MS-DOS) was released in 1996, it has been ported to Sega Turn and Windows due to its strong popularity. Since that time, the game has also been published as a novelization, a comic book, and an OVA. In 2017, MAGES. released a remake version (Play Station 4/Vita) with a new character design and cast. Furthermore, at AnimeJapan 2018 in March 2018, it was announced that the remake would also be released for Nintendo Switch and Steam.

The TV anime will be based on this remake and will be broadcast over a two-cour period.
The staff will be directed by Tetsuo Hirakawa, director of "The Book of Magic: Starting from Zero," who will also write the series composition and script, with character design by Mai Otsuka of the "Carefree" and "Shakugan no Shana" series. Animation production will be handled by feel. of "ISLAND" and "Hina Matsuri" fame. The same cast members as in the game, including Isamu Hayashi, Rie Kugimiya, and Mare Uchida, will continue to play the roles.

A key visual featuring the main character Takuya Arima, played by Isamu Hayashi, and the other major characters surrounding him has been released. The illustration depicts a number of characters involved in this world against a background inspired by a parallel world. The illustration conveys the strong determination of the main character, who holds a treasure ball, an important item that appears in the story.

Also, comments from Tetsuo Hirakawa, the director of the film, and Makoto Asada, the producer of the remake, expressing their passion for the film, have arrived.

Staff Comments

Director Tetsuo Hirakawa
I think that many cult-like popular works are made possible by the fact that the recipient side complements the incomplete parts of the work itself. The same is true of "YU-NO. I think there were many such works around 1995. Some of the best examples are "Neon Genesis Evangelion," "Princess Mononoke," and "Little Buddha," which also had a great influence on "YU-NO.
The creation of the scenario was a difficult task, as it was to be made into an anime. Unlike games, anime can only depict one storyline. The most difficult part of the story was to give coherence and motivation to the main character Takuya's actions. However, we managed to make it look satisfactory with ideas from the scriptwriters of each episode.

■Game Producer Makoto Asada
I think the most unique aspect of this game, which is called a legendary game, is the auto branching mapping system abbreviated as "A.D.M.S. (Adams)". The most appealing feature of A.D.M.S. is that you can use it to visually check the branching points of scenarios and further explore the branching worlds in the story of the parallel worlds. In the anime adaptation, I am satisfied that we were able to develop other media besides the game as originally planned in order to express all routes in the parallel worlds. On the other hand, I was frustrated with the scenes that could not be reproduced in terms of theoretical expression.

The opening and ending theme songs for the game will be sung by Asaki Hana, who also sings the theme song for the game and the opening theme song for the TV anime "Yuru Can△," and the ending theme song will be sung by Suzuki Konomi, an anime song singer who has sung the theme songs for numerous anime productions.
