TV anime "Fruits Basket" announces Kazuyuki Okitsu and Takahiro Sakurai as additional cast members!

The TV anime "Fruits Basket," which has been attracting a great deal of attention since its full-length anime adaptation with a new staff and cast, has released additional cast members and character setting drawings.

Fruits Basket" (original story by Natsuki Takaya) is a very popular girls' manga serialized in "Hana to Yume" (Hakusensha) from 1998 to 2006. The manga has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, and was adapted into an animated TV series by TV Tokyo in 2001, with 26 episodes broadcast, followed by a stage adaptation in 2009. In September 2015, a spin-off manga, "Fruits Basket Another," began serialization on the web, with a total of 340,000 copies of the manga in print (two volumes already published).

The story is about a high school girl, Honda Toru. She has been living alone in a tent since the death of her mother, the only family she had left, but the place where she pitched her tent was on the grounds of the Kusama family, which has a long history! Toru, who was bought by Shigure Kusama for his housekeeping skills, ends up living with Yuki Kusama, the prince of the school, and Ri Kusama, who sees Yuki as an enemy. Kazuyuki Okitsu will play the role of Hatori Kusama, Shigure's classmate and the Kusama family doctor, and Takahiro Sakurai will play Ayame Kusama, Yuki's older brother who is also a classmate of both of them.
