Nintendo and LINE collaborate to distribute the smartphone game "Dr. Mario World" in early summer 2019!

Nintendo and LINE announced that they have agreed to collaborate in the game app business. Based on this collaboration, the two companies will jointly develop and operate the "Dr. Mario World" game app.

Nintendo has continued to create creative entertainment products for the world, creating numerous characters such as "Mario" and establishing a brand known worldwide as a synonym for gaming culture in the field of home entertainment. In 2016, the company also launched its game app business, creating opportunities for users in a wide range of countries and regions to experience Nintendo IP beyond the video game business.

With "CLOSING THE DISTANCE" as its corporate mission, LINE aims to create a world where all things, including people, information/content, and services, are seamlessly connected anytime, anywhere at an optimal distance. LINE is developing services in various areas to realize a "Smart Portal" that completes all aspects of daily life. The number continues to grow.

This collaboration will leverage the strengths of both companies, including LINE's large user base and real social graph, and Nintendo's world-class brand and the knowledge and know-how gained from more than half a century of producing numerous entertainment titles, to jointly develop "Dr. Mario" as the basis for a new game. The two companies have agreed to jointly develop and operate "Dr. Mario World," a new action puzzle game based on "Dr. Mario. Dr. Mario World" will be distributed by Nintendo for the global market, including Japan and the United States, in early summer 2019.

NHN Entertainment will participate in the development and operation of "Dr. Mario World".
