Interview] Rika Tachibana "Colorful Passage," her first single, awakening to her ego as an artist and taking on responsibility.

After two mini-albums since her debut in February 2018, voice actress Rika Tachibana released her first single "Colorful Passage". As soon as the interviewers entered the room, "Well, well, well! and her cheerful and attentive manner, which convinced us that "It's no wonder fans are hooked on her ......," we talked to her about this work and her upcoming 2nd live concert.

The first single of the "Much more than a single! The first single of the new album

Tatsuya: I have the impression that more and more voice actors are making their debut as artists with mini-albums these days. Tachibana-san, you did the same, so this is your "first single".

Tachibana: I also had the impression that "a single and then an album" was the trend after my debut, but I was able to release two mini-albums first. Thanks to the various challenges I took on with those two albums and 12 songs, I think my ego about singing and songwriting has begun to grow. I was asked to write the first single at that time, so I felt like I was "being tested ......" (laugh).

─ ─ Your ego about your musical activities as Rika Tachibana?

Tachibana: For me, the production of two mini-albums with 6 songs was like a thousand knocks. I have always lacked confidence in my singing, and even when I took singing tests in music class at school, I would just say, "No! I've lived my whole life by saying "I refuse!

Tachibana: Is it possible to refuse a singing test?

Tachibana: I used a secret technique (laughs). (Laughs.) I would run for the role of piano accompanist during the test. Then, when I couldn't finish the test during the class time, they asked me, "Then, Tachibana-san, will you sing in the music preparation room during the break? and I didn't have to sing in front of everyone. I had been trying my best not to sing in front of others, but I was challenged to come up with six songs not as a character, but as myself! It was a challenge for me. But through that challenge, I learned the joy of singing and songwriting, and I also began to feel like I wanted to do this, rather than just doing what I had no choice but to do. ...... Now that I have found my own way of dealing with my musical activities, I am nervous about releasing my first single here! I was nervous about the first single!

Tatsuka: This song is the theme song for the OP of the TV anime "Ameiro Cocoa sideG," so it's a new challenge for me, different from the previous songs where I set the theme and worldview myself.

Tachibana: On the mini-album, I was able to do a lot of things I wanted to do and wanted to try with this song. But this time, since the songs are for a work, you want to make songs that fit the work. ...... A sense of responsibility? Yes, a sense of responsibility! That was probably the biggest difference from the past. There was a lot of pressure.

I think it was the most different from the previous ones. How did you feel when your song "Colorful Passage" was played in "Ameiro Cocoa side G" that started airing?

Tachibana: I had never had an OP/ED song as a character song before, so it was really my first experience to have my song played in the opening of an anime! When I first saw it, I thought, "Wow! That's me! That's me! I was so moved. The video was also very beautifully done. When I saw the opening scene where the images and music were combined, I felt relieved that I had created a song that was in line with the world of the work.
