Report on the opening day greetings for "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass Sinners of the System Case.2 First Guardian

The animated feature film "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass Sinners of the System Case.2 First Guardian" opened in theaters on Friday, February 15, 2019. The cast and director took the stage to greet the audience on the opening day.

PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass" is an original science fiction animation depicting a police force that is called to account in a near-future society where the psychological state of humans is quantified and managed.
The first season of the TV anime, which depicts the story of a near-future police force, aired from October 2012 to March 2013 on Fuji Television's "Noitamina" and other channels. The second season, which started in October 2014, was set a year and a half after the final episode of the first season, and a completely new story was depicted in the movie version released in January 2015, both of which became the talk of the town.
And as part of the "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass" Next Project announced on March 8, 2018, three theatrical anime films focusing on the five main characters, Shimotsuki x Ginoza, Sugo x Seiriku, and Cunningham, have been in continuous release since January 25.

The theatrical anime film "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass Sinners of the System Case.2 First Guardian" was released on February 15, 2019 (Friday). On the opening day of the film, a stage greeting was held with main cast members Hiroki Toji (playing Teppei Sugo) and Tomokazu Seki (playing Shinya Kugami), and director Naoyoshi Shiotani as guests. ─ About Kinryu Arimoto (who played Tomoki Seiriku) who passed away recently

Mr. Toji: I still can't really feel it. I had worked with him several times in the past for dubbing jobs, but this was the first time I had a chance to get to know him well. I heard that you were not in good health, but I believed that you would get well and come back, and that we would be able to stand on the stage together. When I was having a hard time, he once told me, "Don't worry about the details. I wanted to see the completed work together and talk about many things. I believe that if you see this work, you will understand how wonderful Kinryu Arimoto is.

Mr. Seki: The first time we worked together was in Gundam, in which Kinutaka played the father. Since then, we have co-starred several times as father and son, but I was afraid of him because he is a big name, and Psycho-Pass was the first time I was able to talk to him properly. When I was smoking in the first episode, he said to me, "Seki, what's so interesting about this story" (laugh), but in the end he really liked the role of Seiriku and was happy that I would be speaking at events as Seiriku and that I would have a lot of roles in Case.2. He was an old-fashioned, slightly evil old man, and I admired him.

Director Shiotani: He would come to the set empty-handed in a trench coat, take out a curled up script, go for a smoke when there was a break, and leave when it was over. I thought he had a great atmosphere. I wanted to work with him one more time, so I created the story of Seiriku. I wanted Kinryu to see it.

─ ─ About Case.2

Mr. Tochi: I didn't expect Sugo to be the main character (laugh). When I read the script, I thought it was a manly story, but a human drama that is liked by men and women of all ages. There are many good scenes as a work of art.

Mr. Seki: I like "Hisshikatsu Shigotojin" and other works that end with a quick revenge, and I felt it was similar to that. I think Japanese people like this story because it is in the near future but also has the atmosphere of a period drama. Cunningham is in good taste (laughs).

Director Shiotani: If you thought it was interesting after watching the film, please give a round of applause for Kinryu-san.

Mr. Seki: I think this film is a fitting end for Kinryu-san. I know you may feel sad and lonely, but if you genuinely enjoy it, I am sure Kinryu-san will be pleased as well. Please also look forward to Case.3, which will be released later.

Mr. Toji: I think Kin-taka-san would also say, "Enjoy watching it. I think he will be somewhere in the theater, so please enjoy the one hour with Kin-taka-san.

In the summer of 2112, before Akira Tsunemori was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Department, Public Security Bureau, Okinawa.
Teppei Sugo, a member of the National Defense Force's 15th Joint Task Force, was an excellentpilot participating in military operations. Three months later, an unmanned armed droneattacks the Ministry of Defense in Tokyo.Tomoki Seiriku, a criminal division 1 enforcement officer, visits the Defense Ministry base toinvestigate the incident,and together with Sugo, they get tothe bottom of what happened.
