Mermaids helping and supporting each other is heartwarming -- "Bermuda Triangle ~Colorful Pastorale~" Yurukyuu Impressions #4 "Bold and Daring".

Episode 4 of the anime "Bermuda Triangle - Colorful Pastorale" was Serena's turn.

From the beginning of the episode, Serena is immersed in the manuals for the kineorbs and projectors. She is good at studying books and tinkering with machines, but she is not so good at dealing with things that cannot be solved by theory, and she seems to be a bit of a logic-driven person.

It was at Ferma's cafe "Espoir" that Serena entered as if guided by Poco. There were three of the village children, Adele, Natura, and Capri, who seemed to be in some trouble: they had bought new matching dresses to wear when they sing together, but Capri, who is boyish and active, made a crochet on her own skirt. (Thinking she didn't look good in it?) Capri herself, who was not keen on wearing the dress and singing, is cool with it, but Adele cries that she wanted to wear it and sing with her, which shows the relationship between the two of them.

In the second episode, Caro showed Capri, her shell sister, a big sisterly side, and now Serena showed a surprising side. Serena, who is always basically calm, even though she sometimes gets angry at herself for not being able to do something, blatantly looks upset at the hint of Adele's tears.

Capri, who lacks self-confidence in herself, saying she doesn't look good in a girly dress and isn't a good singer, is encouraged by Serena in a reasonable manner, and she answers the child's "Why? If that is not enough, she takes the initiative and tries to make Capri do it herself. As you will see in later scenes, Serena has always done this for Fina, who lacks self-confidence. The girlish Fina who is good at cooking and sewing was made possible by Serena's words and help.

Clumsy Selena and Capri's attempts to fix the skirt by themselves were disappointing, but Selena was able to successfully mend it by honestly apologizing for her mistakes and asking Fina for help. First of all, they show how Serena worked hard for them even though she was not very good at it, and then they show that even Fina, who is very good at what she does, has something she is not good at, namely cleaning up. I think Capri's heart was touched by the fact that the two of them helped each other and worked hard together to create a cute costume. The finished active costume is decorated with little ribbons that Capri likes to wear. I thought it was great because it seemed to portray that Capri actually likes cute things and has a small longing for them.

What I like about this work is the careful depiction of the relationship between the two. Capri's heart changes after seeing Serena's efforts and her relationship with Fina, but at the same time, Serena herself learns that just being bold does not work, and that she needs to be bold, backed by experience and effort, like Fina's cutting. I felt director Junji Nishimura's gentle gaze as the girls grew up a little through their connection with someone in the gentle world.

A little off the beaten path, what I personally found interesting was the scene where Poco and Capri pull on each other's costumes. I was worried that the fabric might tear, but both Poco and Capri are played by Eriko Matsui. I thought that voice actors are amazing in their ability to play the roles of the fighting mascot small animal and the boyish mermaid.
