Anime "YU-NO: A Girl Who Sings Her Love to the Ends of the Earth", the first character design is unveiled! Comments from Isamu Hayashi have also arrived!

The first character information from the TV anime "YU-NO: The Girl Who Sings Love at the End of the World," which will begin airing in April 2019, has been released.

YU-NO" is one of the representative works of the late Hiroyuki Kanno, a game designer and scenario writer who created many hit titles such as the "Mysterito" series, and is an adventure game in which players travel through parallel worlds that are said to exist in countless numbers.
Since the original PC game (MS-DOS) was released in 1996, it has been ported to Sega Turn and Windows due to its strong popularity. Since that time, the game has also been published as a novelization, a comic book, and an OVA. In 2017, MAGES. released a remake version (Play Station 4/Vita) with a new character design and cast. Furthermore, at AnimeJapan 2018 in March 2018, it was announced that the remake would also be released for Nintendo Switch and Steam.

The TV anime will be based on this remake and will be broadcast over a two-cour period.
The staff will be directed by Tetsuo Hirakawa, director of "The Book of Magic: Starting from Zero," who will also write the series composition and script, with character design by Mai Otsuka of the "Carefree" and "Shakugan no Shana" series. Animation production will be handled by feel. of "ISLAND" and "Hina Matsuri" fame. The same cast members as in the game, including Isamu Hayashi, Rie Kugimiya, and Mare Uchida, will continue to work on the film.

In the first part of the character information, the character design of Takuya Arima, the main character who travels in a parallel world, has been unveiled. The first part of the character information reveals the design of the main character, Takuya Arima, who travels in a parallel world, and shows various expressions not seen in the key visual. The first part of the character information is a comment from Isamu Hayashi, the voice actor of Takuya Arima, which we would like to introduce.

Cast Comments

Isamu Hayashi (as Takuya Arima)

I feel very honored to be involved in the anime adaptation of a legendary game and to be playing the lead role in a Japanese anime for the first time. Of course there is a lot of pressure, but I hope I can enjoy it as well. When I read the script for the anime, I thought the thoroughness with which the 90's worldview was presented was graceful and wonderful. Also, the relationships between the characters are inherited from the game world, which made it very easy for me to get into the anime when recording it.
Takuya is calm and collected, a bit cynical, but more than that, I think he has a gentle personality that is able to understand the feelings of others. He is a very trustworthy character because he has a painful past and lacks love from his family, and I think he has the capacity to understand the suffering of others. Perhaps it is because he is starved for affection that he often says dirty things (laughs). (laugh) But I played the role with the sole intention of having the audience enjoy it as the voice of all male students.

<Story.
The main character, Takuya Arima, lost her mother in her childhood and her father, a historian, in an accident two months ago. During the last summer vacation of his high school life, he has lost all vitality. One day, a package arrives with a round mirror of unknown purpose and a strange object with a glass ball stuck in it. The letter that came with the package makes him believe that his father is still alive!
Take this object to Cape Ken-no-misaki (Mt. Triangle) tonight at 10:00 p.m."
When I followed the instructions and went to the place, I found a mysterious woman lying on the ground. There was also the school principal and a mysterious transfer student. At that moment, the earth rumbles and a light envelops us....
The journey through parallel worlds begins now!
